Part two of Ruffage's explosive double-header to herald the beginning of 2009 in style.

Member of the now defunct Smoove Criminals crew alongside scene heavyweights Skream and Benga, DJ Chef has been involved in the Dubstep scene since its formative years. Working at Transition Studios, the duplate and mastering pillar of this tight musical community, he has developed a nose for the freshest tracks and has access to the most exclusive cuts to play on his weekly Rinse.fm show. His bold, energetic selections led him to be the first DJ to spin Skream's anthemic 'Midnight Request Line' in 2005. 2008 has seen Chef’s reputation go from strength to strength, with countless international bookings, as well as regular slots at prestigious events such as DMZ and FWD. Quite simply one of the very best dubstep DJs in the whole world right now.

We are extremely proud to be bringing 19 year old boy wonder Joker up to Leeds for his debut set in the city. Hailing from the musical hotbed of Bristol, Joker is at the forefront of an exciting movement which some refer to as wonky, blending the low-slung attitude of US hip hop with neon synth work and a fine ear for melody. Joker also runs his own record label, Kapsize, where he has showcased his own productions as well as collaborations with the likes of Rustie. He has also had releases on Pinch’s Earwax imprint, as well as the legendary Hyperdub records, home of Burial.

The mighty Ramadanman returns from his French exile to make his first appearance in Leeds for nearly ten months. Co-owner of the highly respected Hessle Audio and with recent releases on the legendary Soul Jazz and Tempa labels, expect an energetic set bursting with colour, rhythm and nuance.

Expect an energetic mix of UK sounds from the very talented Bok Bok, coming especially from London for Ruffage. Co-promoter of Night Slugs and an established DJ in his own right, Bok Bok has become well known for his daring and forward thinking selections, blending grime, bassline, dubstep and funky house - a far cry from the sludgy, monochrome seriousness of much mediocre dubstep.

One of Leeds' drum & bass scene's brightest young guns, Apt Pupil, makes his dubstep debut for Ruffage. Having already played at some of the biggest DnB nights in the country, including Metropolis and Valve, despite his tender age, and with one of the most popular shows on Radio Frequency FM, you can be sure that this'll be a set not to be missed.

In the back room, the Ruffage residents will be spinning a diverse mix of dub, dancehall, hip-hop, grime, garage, UK funky, techno and jungle throughout the night.

For anybody who's never been to Works Media Centre, its a big warehouse just south of the city centre. We've set up a special deal with Royal Cars on the night - £7 a taxi from Hyde Park, £8 a taxi from Headingley and Kirkstall (0113 230 5000)

Yeah I think it used to be an old bed factory. Definitely near the new flyover. Nice little venue actually. Needless to say, it'll be sick

Dunno. Only time I've been there for a night, they only had one bar, opposite the toilets.

years ago they used to have the bar in the lift, so if the five-o came, they could just drop it down a couple of floors!! was genius!!
