Unfortunately there is what I think is a bad solder in one cup :( I have to tilt the left ear cup to get sound to come out. So I will be getting a replacement.
Those look dope!! fucker!

Also, for everyone using Sony DJ headphones as production headphones, just don't. Seriously, get yourself some AKG's like above or Ultrasones or something that's semi-open or fully open backs. My 240S's were only $99.00 sound great. Those fucking 702's look proper though!

Don't use ANY dj headphones for production IMO. I agree open or semi open back headphones FTW. I would recommend doing some extensive research and plan on spending some money. You will have them for yonks it's worth the investment.

My next thing is getting a headphone amp. Good ones are more expensive than the cans themselves but if you get the good high impedance jobs you will need an amp. Talked to my audiophile buddy and he told me to build one myself so I have been looking into that. Might make this one...

Doesn't look too difficult if you can solder.

i highly recommend Audio Technica M50s.

They're not cheap....bit when ur listening to them, they reveal details that the competition leaves behind.

Their resolution is ...inspiring....

ever heard a drummers foot hit a bass drum pedal in the middle of a heavy mix? or a vocalists spit as his mouth opens to do a massive scream?? I know this is a dubstep forum, but shit like this is indicative of why these headphones own!

Their bass extension and stereo imaging are also incredible, and you will often take them off to check whether the music is playing in your room at high volumes, only to realise like a retard that its still on your cans!!!

Peace.

Jamil.

My faithful AKG K240Ms seem to have fallen apart... the lead's fucked and all the soldering's come away from one driver, and I have somehow lost one of the screws that connects the driver to the frame :(

Thinking might be time to replace/upgrade - these ultrasone 750/2500 look interesing, anyone got any cheap UK retailers?? Saw some guys were getting these for around 150 a few months ago, can't seem to find them for less than around £200 now :(

Beyerdynamic dt990pro for studio.

HD25s for mixing.

And never the two shall cross.

Different voicing. That is, the 650 has a bit more bass and tops, the 600 are more neutral. That's the most fundamental difference. In terms of imaging and time domain respons they are pretty hard to beat, but they demand a good amp to drive them properly.

If you get 600s then upgrade the cable as it is the weakest thing about them. The 650 cable is £20 and a very good upgrade for the money.
