I like her music - she's on a very different vibe then most, and has used some crazy cool sounds. Please is such a dope tune by her.

badwoman. complete.

her tracks aren't that hard to mix, and they sound amazing when you get it there, just not the usual halfstep swagger that's all it's good for your brain

Big up ikonika! An appearance in the Guardian this weekend too!

More to look out for in 2009

Emmy the Great Singer-songwriter Emma-Lee Moss delivers honey-lunged meditations on sex, death and heartbreak. Martha Wainwright, Jamie T and Norman Cook are all fans. myspace.com/emmythegreat

Josephine Oniyama Hi-life guitars and the Smiths shouldn't mix, but Manchester-raised Oniyama blends her northern roots with her Nigerian heritage to terrific, soulful effect. myspace.com/josephineoniyama

Micachu The 22-year-old singer and producer has already caused a stir with the lo-fi electropop of her single Golden Phone. She is working with Björk producer Matthew Herbert on her debut album. myspace.com/micayomusic

Telepathe From the weirder fringes of Brooklyn, Melissa Livaudais and Busy Gangnes deliver brilliantly unhinged space pop. myspace.com/telepathe

Ikonika A rare female face in the male-dominated world of dubstep, Ikonika melds the genre's juddering bass with Aphex Twin-style melodic mischief-making.

wow, you have all confirmed my belief that i am the only person that absolutely, positively hates 'please'

i do not understand the hype, but hey, the masses have spoken

that township funk remix is really weak, imo, as well...

perkalerk215 wrote:i think shes killin it. need MORE lady producers for sure. and this is one a lot of people dont even realize is a lady!

big up to her!

and the comments about her being hot too. thats cool if shes good looking. but you shouldnt use that as why you like her shit more than you should you know.

im just saying being a girl into this music or ANY music...you dont look at the guys and say "hey that was a nice tune, but hes so hot...i LOVE it!"....its just like added bonus. i notice sometimes the other way around...men commenting on chicks involved w dubstep...it tends to focus more on the physical appearance ...or at least comments are made that way.

were all the same. an ugly person vs an attractive one....its all about the tune itself. but it is nicer to have someone easier on the eyes! so big up! keep your hair and nails clean and pretty  :D
it was a compliment. i wasn't being sexist and it has nothing to do with how i feel about her music. get over it.

her tunes are pleasing, she does fit with hyperdub really well whoever said that..., bleepy, pretty and somewhat minimal, very lush. so yes she's unique I agree, just not my style.
