haha all about the Olympic styles. the vault is impossible...it's my sisters ds but i think i'll be kidnapping it if i get this.

im not a massive Nintendo fan (apart from n64/gameboy etc) but gotta give credit for them always daring to innovate.

i hope this is just the tip of the iceberg for music creation on the ds, i have nitrotracker, dsmidiwifi and a few other music creation apps on mine, but if the big names start to develop stuff rather than just the homebrew crowd, it could become such a useful tool. it has such a god input method for this kind of thing compared to any other games console.

does anyone know the release date for this?

i guess the release date was around june or july, don't remember correctly.

Waiting eagerly for this, though the lack of MIDI-support is something i don't understand. I'll stick to nitrotracker till then :) just wish it had tracker effects and sample looping.

Also, i'm wondering about the sound quality of it, nintendo ds:s own sound chip isnt the greatest of them all..

a friend of mine has this, although the sound is obviously weak as fuck you can do everything you'd expect to with an actual synth. what am i saying, it IS an actual synth, just made for the DS. it even has a kaoss pad! i was playing with it for hours when i was tripping, it's addictive stuff :D

A mate of mine has this, he's made some nice tunes with it. I was expecting it to sound totally piss poor, but its actually capable of some big noises.
it'll never be an MS series, but its a lot cheaper!

forgot about this thread..

but last week I was at a mates house havin a sesh and kid whipped out the DS, asked him if he knew about this Korg, kid says he has it.. shit is sooo much fun! And it sounds real real nice if you plug it into decent computer speakers..

Then the kids friend comes over with his DS and own speakers, I'm like WTF, lets have a jam session..

turns out that the korg game has WIFI SYNC!!!! so multiple users can work on their DS separately and have both DS's in time sync, very cool!

also there is a program for windows computers that supposedly enables wifi midi to the DS which sounds ill as well.

futuristic music toys ftw

gameboy trackers are truly the hardcore portable music production tool. Plus, it looks so much more badass to have the big grey block and be making hardcore tunes on it. Don't sound nearly as good as the ds-10 though :(

Sounds cool but they clearly came up with the whole idea from the name.

Ok, now I want one.

Saw the write up about it in CM a while back and thought the synth looked kinda cool, but the straw idea too? Genius!!!
