this is absurd, why make some irrelevant, unsubstantiated allegations concerning about which you know nothing?
this forum was created to try and give some space for discussion over what is, in some ways, a new path for UKG - much as Grime and Dubstep have been in the past.
Is this subforum necessary?
my intention was not to send any message that Funky is/not/should-be related to dubstep,
but fact is - this music is discussed on dubstepforum a lot recently,
and every chance for a discussion about music is good enough reason for me to start a subforum.
those who are here longer are witnesses.
based on my personal likings, i would rather open a Wonky subforum. although i prefer to see it merged with dubstep, not fragmented from dubstep. and i dont see enough talk about WonkyHipHop here to warrant a whole subforum only for that, but it would be cool. thats why i made Sticky in Main.
im sorry if this caused unnecessary pain in chest of purist who think it is inappropriate to relate this anyway with dubstep.
this subforum will not kill dubstep but maybe will xenophobia

looks like there are quite a few forum folk who like dance music to be danceable and not totally aggro cave man style.
fucking cavesteppers are jealous because they don't know how to dance - hence the "aggro" head nodding and standing still
consider yourselves lucky dubway wouldn't let me introduce a trance forum

exactly my point.d1rt1989 wrote:I think this subforum is a good idea - for one, if you don't like it, you don't have to look at it. The way I see it, as we've taken an interest in the dubstep scene's evolution and that, I for one (and many others I'm sure) take an interest in this. While it's not entirely my bag there is some fresh and interesting sounds coming out of it so I'm keen to see how it develops.
every decent dubstepper is curious to check What The Hell Is This "Funky" People Speak Of???. is it good or crap? do i like it or hate?
not that i want to push it or anything. it is here anyway...
exactly. if interest in this subforum starts to die out it will end up same as grime subforum...badger wrote:as i mentioned earlier in this thread there did used to be one but interest in it started to die out and it ended up as the other music forum. funky on the other hand has lots of interest atm so a separate forum makes sense rather than cluttering up both the main forum and the other music oneAbs wrote:Couldn't we have had a Grime sub forum?
Funky is really really shit, but if you like it that much then head on over to the PureGrime forum, they have a section about it with loads of free music, only problem with PureGrime is it's full of idiots, you won't find any discussion or debates about anything, just strange 16 year olds trying to be badmen.
if dubsteppers became interested in something else - new subforums will be started... why not?

this is it.dubway wrote:those who are here longer are witnesses.
I think the people who have seen this forum (& the sound) mutate & evolve are alot more comfortable with change & the ongoing evoloution. Whereas sometimes people who discovered dubstep(forum) in its currant form are more attached to there own perceptions of how things should be.
I see no problem with this being here, then at whatever point in the future it all being merged back into the main / other music forum & so on. Its normal.
Big Up dubway!

can we have a proper hiphop forum please?
id guess dubstep heads are more into hiphop than whatever flavor of the week genre gets made up
and NOT GRIME...THATS NOT HIPHOP!

idea is to put all other music under "Other" category (like "Events"). you will see...£10 Bag wrote:yeah a hip hop forum could work, but then what about ''other music'' section
why bother with limits and boxes?£10 Bag wrote:and why bother calling it dubstepforum if you're going to do hip hop & 'funky' as well?
that was my initial idea, but i have experience with votings on forum - not enough ppl vote to call it representative sample.£10 Bag wrote:why not just have a vote on it?
For what its worth, I'm not bothered either way. Personally, I wouldn't really use it but if people want it, go for it.dubway wrote:no problem if you ask me.claw wrote:can we have a proper hiphop forum please?
i wanted to test the reaction with this, and then decide on Hiphop.
you think there is enough ppl into this idea?
