2.4 GHz and 4mb of cache.... not good.
Thats 0.6 Ghz per core and 1mb of cache per core.
No no no! a 2.4ghz quad core has 4 seperate cores at 2.4ghz each! Otherwise that would be a pretty shitty processor mate. I believe the 4mb is shared amongst the four cores, but as far as I know (and it depends per processor) the 4mb is dynamic and is assigned to whichever core needs it.
To add my own experience: I got a 3ghz core 2 duo. On my finished projects I sometimes hit MAYBE 40% (with many instances of massive running with multiple voices each). If I ever hit 100% with it I can just overclock
