thanks; do you find the bass melody out of key or just uninteresting?bandshell wrote:pretty good man, but you need to work on the tune a bit more, it all doesn't quite fit, like the drums, bass and vocals all seem to not fit together to well, change the drum pattern and bass melody.
drum pattern; boring or out of time signature?
no worries, sorry if i sound like i'm slating it, i'm not at all, its good, just yeah, the drums sound a bit out, as does the bass, the bass is good then it gets to a certain point of the tune and it seems a bit out of ryhtmn with everything else, place the vocals a bit better too i think, maybe slow them down a bit
just suggestions though

Maybe add an LFO to the sub bass to give it some wabble or try a different bass sample that has a layered lfo in to give it some movement.
Try listening to the tune without the drums and try and imagine where you think the drums should be and try that. These drums seem a little rigid. It might be the hats.

bandshell - slam it if it needs slamming! i'm still new to it, trying to find a feel for dubstep and dubstep production, but i love it. i posted up here because i knew that if my mixes weren't cracking the dubstep feel, the users here could help me see what i'm missing; as well as critique overall production, so i'm happy to hear your thoughts.
passenja - thanks for those tips, i'm going to give it another shot.

in the meantime additional feedback welcome of course.

this one is nice, the snare is a little tight or something but it's mellow and got a sick vibe of it's own

second mix is uploaded at soundcloud
it's got a different groove, new drum sequences and messed with some wobble a bit.
you can download the 320 at soundcloud.
