Weeds been reclassified to a class b drug, which penaltys more severe than they was before!!

That is ridiculous because if you think about it, what is the reason cannabis is illegal in the first place? To stop people smoking and because of the associated dangers i.e deaths, addicitivity...etc no?
But clearly, regardless of its classification, consumption will not decrease and people will still continue to smoke it regardless of its criminal status. Its crazy to think that either alcohol or ciggarettes account for more deaths than all class A drugs combined and yet they are still legal. There is deffinately a strong argument for legalisation, I think the government could easily make it legal, slap a tax on it and regulate it, and if anything, it could be shown that legalisation could actually reduce consumtion of weed in the long term. Standardly.

Think its only illegal cos its the only way people from feltham who aint got a job to make money.

If it was legal people would be goin into shops and the dealers will resort to burgulary.

also the dealers would scrounge off the council more if it was available in shops.

and they know that if some tnuc was high and tooo stoned to go out he wont go and mug someone.

however if it was sold in shops they would put tax on it...it would cost more..and then desperate addicts may commit more crime to fund they're habits.

I think all of those points you've made can apply right now, if you're really really addicted you'll break in or steal from anywhere to get money to fund your habit, whether it's a shop or some blokes house.

this is true for some things, but i've not heard of many people breaking and entering to fund their weed supply....

when i were a youth i found it much easier to buy bud than alcohol or cigarettes. does this mean that if it was illegal it would he harder for young people to purchase it? i'm talking like 13-15 yr olds

Its been proved that laws and policing have no affect on crime levels and this mild change in the law wont be any different. The only big difference a government can really make to the sale of a drugs is by making it illegal in the first place. Once that's done the trade routes change and the means of people getting it change but that's it. If people really want to ingest something then they will find a way.

Only difference is that it might push the price up further for us buyers as the big dealers will see it as more of a risky venture.

the govts own advisors AND independant advisors say it should be Class C or decriminalised.
Yet the govt dont listen.
You ask yourself, and them, why.
They reply "we want to send out the right message"
To who is this message intended?
To the Tory voting public and idiots who like to go out and fight people on a fri and sat night.

The use of it wont change, as proven by ALL the experts.
Yet still they dont listen.
So now it means this:

You get caught with a ten bag of weed:

You get an offcial Caution.

You get caught a second time:

You pay a fine

You get caught a 3rd time:

You go to court and god knows what can happen when u get there and meet a judge who grew up in the dark ages.

All the promised talk of progress in the 21st Century is quickly getting undone.
