Coki's tunes
I am sorry, but this post shows that you don't know the, still pretty fresh, history of dubstep. At the time when people first got to hear Coki's tunes (here Bloodthirst & Spongebob are perfect examples), there was nothing (really NOTHING) that sounded a like his tunes. His sound only became standard when a lot of people started imitating this sound (especially the 4/4 wobbler and the midrange noisy-style).Abs wrote: I respect that fact that people are into the music and it's probably getting peoples attention to the genre, broadening it and all that, but at the same time i feel that the tunes are all quite standard and bland, so personally i can't respect it for that reason, but then thats just me, and we agreed to shut up anyway so who cares.
So if you like to critisize these two very distinct sounds of dubstep, please name the artist who happen copy of his style.

summed it up perfectly, if you don't like coki don't expect a good reaction when you slag him off on a public forum about dubstep. seeing as he is one of the biggest and most loved dubstep artists.Reptilian wrote:
hey why dont you go on a jazz forum and say miles davies was a cliched run of the mill trumpeter? in fact forget him! the whole lot of them - herbie hancock, john coltrane - they're all shit as well!!

I can see you really want to make it obvious to everyone how long you've been listening to dubstep for, and that's ok, if it makes you feel special or whatever, I don't really care, i've been into it since 05 so i'm aware of some of the history, obviously not all of it aparantly.. not that i would have been paying attention anyway, i dont like his tunes, so why would it even matter?
to be honest though mate, just because someone was the first to do something i'm not into, doesn't mean i have to like it or respect it because they were the first to do it, i just dont like, and if it comes up in a discussion i'll say exactly what i think.
Read all this thread just - wasn't gonna reply - but what the hell!
Abs - everyone entitled to their opinion - but this interweb stuff works best if you support what you like and just ignore what you don't. People like different stuff. Makes the world go round

Your comment about Coki AND DMZ
  made me smile - whether like it or not - it's like saying The Beatles did nothing for the UK music scene in the 60's - probably a crap comparative - but ....
Anyway - try to reach a DMZ night. Ask a DJ - they're the people at the front playing records - plastic round things - if they'd play Goblin. Then stand at the back, infront of the bass bins - then watch the crowd go mental and let yourself feel the tune. ... you may not like it, but couldn't argue that it had some effect:-)
... you don't really get the same result through headphones

This really is a waste thread
  and i added to it
Coki = Badman producer IMO

sorry abs, i'm not breaking the cease fire - just feel this video (despite shit sound quality) embodies why DMZ are not boring (to me at least)
i do understand that you don't like their music and i respect the fact that you've got your own opinion on it, even if i don't agree!
edit: you need to copy and paste the whole address as the whole link hasn't gone blue for some reason!..
