PHANTOM FRIDAYS is back with another offering of proper rowdiness...

This time we bring you a live performance from the titan of dub that is BASS CLEF (blank tapes). Off the back of acclaimed album 'A smile is a curve that straightens most things' and a series of storming performances at festivals across Europe in 2008 (his Sonar set being a particular highlight) the man from Hackney's been touring the UK and we've finally tied him down for an overdue date back in London. His live show is truly one not to be missed. Far from being constrained to two decks and a mixer, Bass Clef incorporates into his sets what must be his entire collection of analogue synths, drum pads and FX units, eager to squeeze out as many of his unique sounds as possible into thumping streams of dubbed out 2 step. Add to that his trusty trombone, cowbell and big bag of other wacky percussive delights and you get a one man band that would blow Dick Van Dyke out of the water.

The RIOT JAZZ BRASS BAND is a genre-defying Manchester based brass collective that covers all styles from hip hop to reggae via funk, dubstep and drum and bass. Formed in early 2008 the group has already played alongside the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Lee Scratch Perry, Skinnyman, Soweto Kinch and The Speakers Corner Quintet - trumpets, trombones, sousaphone and drums combine to form a uniquely aggressive sound, one not to be missed. Expect anything from Ray Charles to the Human League...with plenty of raucous numbers thrown in for good measure.

To keep the good times flowing we've secured the services of SOLID GOLD. One thing's for sure: this man has an ear for a big tune...as anyone who's attended one of his massive Trouble Vision nights will testify. Though not content with masterminding one of the best London club nights to emerge in 2008, he's also a veritable don behind the decks...

Rounding off the night in style will be Phantom Friday's resident NICK WHITTINGHAM, spinning proper bangers from his formidable collection of dubstep, electro and techno.

Upstairs, the boys from the EXTRA STOUT SOUNDSYSTEM will be bossing proceedings throughout the night. Formed to support Pow Pow Movement (Germany) at Rototom Reggae Sunsplash in Italy 2008, they're a four man team playing roots, reality and culture, plus bashment and ragga.
