I'm sure I've seen you say that before somewhere... but dates of birth in the 90s freak me the fuck out, especially when they come from people that I consider "peers".

In 1991 I lived in Lincolnshire!

Wow, 6 pages for a thread about how old you were in 91...

Anyways...I was 9 back then. That was actually the year my mum started doing the PR for the hardcore rave Fantazia so I got into the hardcore and rave scene pretty early. She had been raving for a few years before hand but that was when the scene was really blowing up from what I remember. Obviously I was too young to actually go raving myself but she used to get all the merchandise for free so always had all the new cd and tape packs etc. Good times...

Nice! I used to rinse Fantasia tapepacks with my best mate at school... her bedroom was practically wallpapered with flyers for Dreamscape, Helter Skelter and Fantasia raves that we wished we were old enough to go to. Still got a few of the tapepacks at my parents place somewhere actually...

Yeah my bedroom was exactly the same, floor to ceiling full of flyers. I used to go all the way to the local record shop, not for records but just so i could grab a handful of the best flyers and stick them to the walls and to copy the drawings of the big yellow smiley face with his raving gloves and glow sticks lol. I still have an old fantazia tshirt I wear to bed and had a matching poster which used to take pride of place on my wall...quite distubingly a close up of a mans nipple lol

I was 14 / 15 in 1991. Too young to go to raves but old enough to be buying records by The KLF. In '92 I read the liner notes to Altern-8's 'Full On Mask Hysteria' and suddenly everything clicked into place. Within weeks I was living on hardcore tape packs and fantasising about not living in the middle of fucking nowhere.

My life aged 16 was like a Burial tune with less paranoia.

Well they were Hardcore raves! I have vivid memories of getting the school busdriver to play a Dreamscape tape that started with a Happy Hardcore remix of Like A Prayer.

Bass Generator, Helter Skelter, Resurrection, Judgement Day... that was sort of the mid 90s though because we used to get away with going to NE1 in toon, necking a load of shit speed and drinking loads of coke all night. Thought I was so grown up.
