Perhaps. I like to think as supplements as being exactly that - supplemental... they're treats for the brain, but you can't flood it with them. The best thing IMVHO for the brain are things that it has evolved over millions of years to use efficiently... nutritious, fresh food and plenty of water.

Organised religion, especially Western religion, has a generally fairly bleak look on hallucinagens. Have a look at some of the debate between Timothy Leary and the Catholic Church if you've not seen it (you may well have done!)... a lot of people saw him as a "cheat" by obtaining religious enlightenment through the use of hallucinagens and that, somehow, it wouldn't be as "worthy".

Whichever way you choose is fine with me... we're all on our own route.

nobody says flood your brain.

well i sorta think you should, but i try not to say it outright too often.

but really we're being flooded anyway. haarp is affecting us daily forreal.

television is affecting us daily.

pepsi-cola is affecting us.

toxic fish. etc.

nothing wrong with some shrooms once in a while to remember that the spirit realm is a constant reality, like it or not

this is what i was talking about with adepts.

the bishops are educated about particular "sacraments" while the lower echelons of devotees are kept in the dark. it is a real power structure. and cheating? GOT to be kidding me.

check out Kymatica. Ben Stewart breaks down how Judaism is a straight up amanita muscaria mushroom cult. and thats why they wear the funny hats.

David Wilcock's 2012 Enigma video (ranked #1 on Google Video) breaks down how the pope and vatican are all about the pineal gland. if you don't know how the pineal and the "supplements" go together yet, i can show you some links.

Defintiely not (although they've never shown me that specifically)... I said as much in my first post. I'm not arguing with you, just providing a slightly different take on the same subject.

I'm fully supportive of experimenting with hallucinagens in order to gain some sort of enlightenment (or even therapy), I just don't happen to think of them in exactly the same way as you.

Good thread.

I tried to post sutm recently abt macrobiotics and got gunned.

Apart from what has been suggested earlier I would recomend a lot of legumes and pulses - think lentils, leafy vegs etc (the greener the better) and beans/chickpeas etc. Choose food that is as unrefined as possible ie. brown rice/pasta instead of white, cane sugar and rock salt instead of refined and leaving skins on (organic) fruit and veg.I cook a lot of thai and indian veg curries and dals and definitely notice the difference in my mind state/spiritual well-being almost instantaneously.

The Celestine Prophecy (no matter what you want to say abt the ending!) has some very interesting things to say about energy fields and the energy you derive from food replenishing your own inner energy and spirit. ie.

1. Do not eat living creatures
2. Eat food/veg in the rawest state possible (cooking reduces the energy in the food*)
3. Do not use (a lot of) salt and this also reduce natural vitality in food
4. Drink lots of water (flushes out free radicals and toxins in your system) - this is mainstream scientific thinking.

*This also has some correlation to the Raw Food Movement, Veganism. Macrobiotics etc

Smoothies and juices are definitely a good idea (esp using veg) and I am getting into these at the moment (post any good recipes in here!) as is (homemade) soup.

I also gave up McDonalds, fast food, Coke ages ago (I sometimes slip when rum and lime is involved tho)

Re Meditation: ram Dass and many others all metion diet fleetingly but say that once you start to meditate on the regs then you will start to make food choices in a more spiritual and intelligent way in the same way you will start to sub-consciously phase out TV, modern distractions etc which I kind of like as it is less prescriptive then saying eat this and you will meditate better.

Peace

Nice to read a gentle, honest thread like this.
re food, this is good advice:

i felt best on this ^ diet
but I've benefitted most from learning how to not eat.
it takes quite awhile to overcome the cravings of habitual hunger as opposed to actual hunger

from what i read fish is a mess nowadays as food, because pollution most of it contains mercury. in all EU states except Romania (not because it's cool, just because the state there doesn't know/care) fishing in the rivers is forbidden, if my info is correct.
also many times salt has some additive that are toxic, i won't mention them to not ruin the thread.

today i'm not in the mood for flames, so i'll just add for the curious: search for the codex alimentarius to help making the best decisions on food and avoid crap

Fish is majorly important to me, you just have to be aware of the difference between fresh seawater/line caught/atlantic etc. vs. farmed.

It's the same as meat these days, just make sure its traceable. There is too much goodness in fish (Omega 3 fish oils etc) to strike it off the list completely.

I prefer eating fish caught in the ocean as they atleast live a moderately normal life before being murdered by some scottish men on a boat, as opposed to farmed fish.
Also, you can buy omega 3 oil suppliments anyway, so theoretically you could cut fish out of your diet without any repurcussions.

Anyone in the medical and health professions will tell you that you can't replace the nutrients from food with vitamins supplements.

Shit, I didn't mean ALL nutrients from the fish, just the omega 3. Personally I wouldn't recommend cutting meat out of diets like some people do.

omega supplements are fish oil unless you're getting something like flaxseed oil, which doesn't have the same omegas

i think i'm in a slightly better place already since meditating

i meditated today as well on lunch when nobody was about....

only just got in from work but am still gonna eat something wholesome so have haddock and baked potatoes on the way...maybe with a bit of crushed chilli

so with regards to the really useful info people have left one factor hasn't been mentioned much....money...i don't have much....courses tend to cost loads don't they?

and @ parson i was thinking about what we said about supermarkets and trusting them...where do you get your green tea from?

and where do you think i could get pure organic butter from?

i guess texas is a bit different to croydon man....and surely it's gonna cost a lot to get it straight from a farmer...

so you reckon tea from a supermarket is ok?
