the idea was to take metal, and give it more production quality, aka add subass, perhaps tackled from the other direction it would be a dubstep tune with guitar chugs on it

My vision of making metal-eque dubstep was to feature absolutely NO guitars in the productions, but make similar super-eerie "melodies" ala Morbid Angel/Monstrosity with sub bass & LFO/stepsequenced cutoff saws n' sines, & mix quiet, suble blastbeats in with a louder 4/4 140ish bpm beat with the snare on 3. To me, with both dubstep & metal, the artists that tried to create a dark, eerie & otherworldly vibe always took my listening over stuff with the focus on being heavy or complex. Not that heaviness or complexity are bad things, either.
