To the people spamming his friends list, don't be homophobe. there's no need to bother other people who've not done anything.

p.p.s. just so there's no "homophobe" sentiments taken from the statement. Words have several meanings, first of all, and their meanings are dependent on the context they're uttered in. If you really think I was saying it is homosexual to spam people on this guy's friends list, then just lol. Words don't have static meanings and change all the time. The contexts in which I learned to use that word were not homophobic contexts, and so therefore I do not use the word in a homophobic context. There was no "gay bashing" sentiment whatsoever - it didn't even cross my mind.

My apologies if you got offended.

this guy is a complete turd.

he put his name on a tune of myles away's as well.

no use apologizing, you are a turd futurist, you will always be a turd and if i ever see you i won't hesitate to call you a turd.

It is really just amazing that you ever could conceive that doing what you did could be a good idea on any level whatsoever, and you have done it many, many times it seems. Part of me thinks that you may be mentally ill so I almost feel sorry for you. But not quite.

turd.

Haha. I'd say it was more like going to a restaurant for dinner only to find they're nipping down the take-away and boshing it on a plate out the back and then serving it to you for £20. And weeing in a wine bottle...

Futurist - You're weak bruv. No amount of apologising is gonna explain you're obviously terminally bent mindset. No one is ever gonna take you seriously again. Show yourself out, yeah?!

Not because I want a big long argument, but because it bears saying: it's easy to say "it's just a word", but we all know that words DO have meaning, and more importantly, intent. And while words may not have static meanings, there are certain words in our vocabulary that are used with INTENT to demean, dismiss and/or dehumanize. The definitions may change, but the intent is still very much there, and very hard to dissassociate from the word. In other words, "gay bashing" may not have even crossed your mind, but your "non-gaybashing" definition doesn't mean much before the overall cultural connotation of using the word.

I don't think everyone who says shit like that is inherently a homophobe, but if you've spent your life hearing that kinda shit aimed at you...trust me...it makes me grit my teeth and wanna smack the shit out of everyone who uses it.

Oh also, the guy who posted other people's music as his own...what were you THINKING?

im with you on this. hate it when people say that word or say something is "gay" when they really mean that it's "bad"
we'll get there, eventually... although, people still drop the N bomb, so...

I understand your frustration, but I had hoped that it would be received and thus understand with the contextually grounded significance which I had intended. Those types of word may be used (by some) with the intent to demean yeah, but what better thing could you do to detract the power of that word to demean than to use it in a different way and lend it a different meaning? Words only have significance in the context of a "language game" with rules and such that are agreed to by all parties playing that particular language game. If I'm not playing the language game where "homophobe." is a derogatory term for a homosexual person, then any intentionality (which is what we find fault with, not abstract sounds, but their relation to the speaker and their intentions) which could have fault found with it doesn't exist.

I'd even argue that the word in its contemporary usage is far removed from the original homophobic connotation, and that it will eventually entirely cease to become a slur, just as it has ceased to denote bundles of sticks and certain pork products.

But yeah like I said, my apologies if anyone was offended. Wasn't my intention to do so.

jesus christ people stop being so politically correct
if you need to say i'm not a homophobe with some long winded explanation after calling someone gay or cigarette, chances are you are prejudiced
a guilty conscience always reveals itself
the same goes with a lot of words
it's like the whole n bomb a ending vs er ending
that and well i have x amount of black/african american friends
when will people put the differences aside and work as a whole?
