Just because Kode 9 discovered burial doesn't mean that he's not a dik.

You can't really blame Kode9's attitude after looking back through this thread. It's incredibly tense, swinging from excitement to fanboyish statements like "my life will be complete" to anger at not having instant gratification. We all like Burial, and it seems likely we'll all get to hear new material in the course of time, but...getting hostile over not hearing it RIGHT NAOW OMG! is a bit antagonistic, isn't it?

On top of that, if you look at his actual tweet he's mocking the troll asshole that puts up fake clips claiming to be Burial...not the fans.

One comment I have to make but the comments I hear about burial on youtube etc are easily some of the gayest and most retarded comments I've ever heard spoken about music.

haha indeed. incredibly painful to read. they often remind me of a bad author trying to describe a sex scene. some things are best just avoid entirely.

anyone thats so worked up about new burial to the point of calling the head of hyperdub an asshole, needs to sign out of the computer for a minute and go outside. get some tissues, blow your noses and sort yourselves out.

because if people would get on with their own lives, instead of having an emo/blown fuse.... session every time the word burial is mentioned on here, it would spare us all from the daily facepalming.

It's definitely out of line for people to be calling him names and shit, and you certainly can't blame him for getting pissy when he's trying to promote other shit on his label and all people are asking him about is Burial.

Kode9 is a smart businessman, I completely understand why he's strategic with his releases.

...but at the same time, it's not wrong for the fans to be starving for new material. However, moaning and being disrespectful when talking about it is definitely unnecessary.

you must not have heard of a thing called humour. even if its failed humour. stop being so serious, people. and if kode nine is a dick or not its really not anyones problem is it. he's out there making and pushing music, not on the internet being a cyber warrior.

and i dont get why its wrong to be anticipating burial's new stuff. is it a sin to be jaded of the bombarded filthstep going around? no one put a gun in your mouth to read this thread. so if you're sick of hearing burials name dont read the thread? no?

so who wants to know what teh night was like?

more much more dancefloor / old house vibes thoughout - sounded like slow bumping linear chicago house heavily effected with twisted 'found instrument' percussion and cavernous atmospheres (but no rain noises :( ) definately sounded like burial tbh but with a tad more euphoria than teh pervious melancholy heavy works.

edit:
also zomby made that youtube tune

cheers for sharing man! I like what i'm hearing...

A lot of people are getting a bit uptight they haven't been given any tasters yet, i'm keeping patenting and not complaining, kode will do the right thing, look where he's got hyperdub to this day!

I was waiting to post here til after the event. I maintain my skepticism about the whole thing to be honest.

But there's too much too all of this for it to be a complete fake (the theories, not that tune). I guess I just don't get why Kode9 would play a set of new Burial material in Istanbul (are they particularly well knownas Burial fans?) before even announcing there was new Burial material. But then again, this is Kode9.

If Burial has gone all housey then I can't wait to hear it!

Anyway, Kode9 is fucking hilarious and a true legend, I love that he has the balls to slag off the internet crew.

If Burial has gone all housey then I'm going to be really disappointed.

I just love the vibe of Untrue.
