The amount of techno I've danced to in my lifetime is immense. The amount of time I've spent DJing techno is also immense - I used to do a late night radio show, five hour stretches, sometimes with mates, sometimes by myself. That's how long you need to play to do techno properly. I put on Dan Bell in Australia once. These days I still have a listen to UR, John Tejada and so on, for old times sake, but in terms of new techno coming out, I'm into Actress and the really experimental stuff that comes out on Raster Noton.
I've done some mixes:

The first mix is one I did recently, scroll down to 'Early Techno Mix' for some pretty hard, minimal stuff - Jay Denham, Mills, Sterac, Sutekh, Claude Young, Green Velvet etc. Further down is 'Old Techno Mix' - starts and ends a bit melodic, but with some serious pace in the middle. Then there's a bunch of live recordings and radio recordings. Hope you like it.
Hey does anyone reckon that the best techno goodness is a mixture of the German minimal stuff and the midwest Detroity etc stuff, with a splash of electro?
I downloaded
this album the other day - I've got it on vinyl... somewhere... haven't listened to it for probably ten years - and it's awesome! I'm thinking a few of the tunes could fit into a mix of the stuff like Girl Unit etc are mixing up these days, like
this one. Worth a try...
