Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- DECEMBER 2010
Hi guys, got one new tune finished!
Soundcloud
@ninthy4 really like your song, great vibes, very deep pumping sub but imo the drums could use some more power
@ +3 wooooooow gasplanet is simply sick! love the vibes and everything! and the day we met i'm in love with that one, you rellay got your own sound going on and the vibes are just to lovely, i don't have much to say about the tunes except that i love them
@ JBE oh yes you've done it again, love your tracks man
and road to nowhere is great! like that guitare
@ kaiori breathe I rusty-swings-and-finger-painted-nostalgia, viby ass hel! like that sweep in the sub keeps you awake!
@ abs wow that synth is awesome, the drums could use some more work imo
@ Jack Matthias the beauty and the beat is such a epic tune, love it!
Peace

@ Fatach ; Sounds really good. Really like the broken feel. Definately sounds like there is enough of the high frequency stuff.

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- DECEMBER 2010
few more tonite boyos
JBE/road to nowhere, wow..... thats it mate wow love it. synths are amazing. downloaded - this should be in dubs dont need crit lol
Jens/ 808 rock, melody seems a bit basic and random and the percussion sounds like arranged samples. Although i bit basic sounds farely clean and there are some nice ideas in there. You just need to pull it all together a bit and make it a bit wetter you get me?
Ninthy/ smashed it, this is narrrrrrrsty. Love the mid layer on the bass its a shit hot sound man which you have nailed. your mix down sounds spot on on my headies, will crck the sub out tomorrow on it defo. why aint you got it up for download eh?
voodeedoo/ this is a really nice idea mate, like the loungeyness to it. Its all a bit basic though and sounds too central. you need to fill the stereo out.
3ZA/ nice n laid back, sounds pretty crisp but although a minimal style still sounds a tad basic. Needs to fill out a lil more, maybe some more panning and layer the synths out a little? atmosphere is nice though and very original. good stuff
Kaiori/ rusty, sounds a tad thin in places but the track is a stunning piece of artwork. sounds cheesey but its bootiful mate. Some lush melodies and love the touch with the light sub going on. Really creative mate good stuff.
710/ @ your remix, tell you what the mixdown is rough as a nuns pom, but the ideas are all there mate, sounds dead catchy, just needs some variation and a good fooking mix down
. Bass needs filling out as well.
Fluid/ bass synth sounds ok but the rest of the synths are far too thin. They could use some more mixing down to the track and filling with some layers. Some well weird (in a good way) ideas in here mate i can see some interest stuff coming from you in future. Not bad at all
Kidstrange/ this is fookin weird mate lol. that lil stabby bit of bass soudns like summat you would get from sukh knight. Again you need to layer some of you synths out and i would tidy up the low/mid on your bassline. sounds a bit raspy and eats your perc up. With a good mix down this could be pretty awesome. Good direction though mate keep at it.
Wife/ sounds a bit thin on the hole but other than that im enjoyin this mate. Vocals could use mixing to the track a bit better they sound a touch "plonked" on the track. But again good direction like to hear some more like this from you defo. What program you use?
Fatach/ the sub bass defo sounds better, the synths are still to thin tho mate. You need to open them out a bit and mayb taking them off the centre of the stereo field. Make them wider you get me?
Melodies and progression is lovely though. nice lil rework/mix.
Brownz/ nice intro sets you right up to go all steppy and heavy
. Would have liked to hear a touch more mid bass in there, just so you could tweak it out a bit. sounds pretty clean though. Just dont jump out at me really. just a decent attempt all round.
if anyone does want any further advice on any comments i made drop me a pm and ill do my best. if i cant help well then sorry lol
Blindside is my newest (top of sig), gotta visit my soundcloud to check out the katy perry cali girls remix ive done. Its locked to be played at soundcloud only, dam copyright laws lol.

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- DECEMBER 2010
Well, thanks for all the positive feedback, I really wasn't expecting it. I really appreciate it. As for Kaiori, I'm flattered by your comment, but I don't think you have anything to be envious of. This one good track compared to the many great tracks you've made. I think it's much more the opposite.
For anyone that wanted a higher quality version, I've uploaded a 320 version to soundcloud and removed the old one. Spent the last couple hours bouncing the entire track out of FL and into stems to load back up into reaper to do a bit more work on the overall mix.....or at least tried to do more work on the overall mix. Not all that great when it comes to mastering, but Reaper helps a little bit with that, as I feel I have a little more control over the end product than with FL. That, and I bought it and still have yet to actually use it for anything.
The updated version is in my sig.

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- DECEMBER 2010
JBE/ I rated you mix as well bud, i think its a stunning bit of work, as i said before no crit from me. You dont need to mix it anymore imo, it sounds lovely n crisp on my headphones. I would leave it for a weak or 2 and then master it. (some people mix these 2 things up, the master is bringing the volume up without altering the dynamics of the track). If you do this too soon after you mix the track you dont have fresh ears for it and its easy to make mistakes.
As for mastering, Fruity loops is endlessley powerful for all aspects of production. sad thing is it is very thirsty on your system and the interface is a bit tricky at first. I master using FL because of its compatability and infact the amount of control you do get over the track. If you can build the system to suit FL is one of the most powerful of the sequencers. I have tried others and always gone back to FL ( i do dabble in ableton as well) i nabbed the lower Qual version i shall dl the 320 tonite mate. Top job

JBE: Those drums are sick. Got a real hip-hop vide to them, like MF Doomish (I don;t give any higher praise than that for beats!). I think when it drops you need some more powerful drums to be layered in though, they just don't cut through the mix well enough in the main section. Great ideas though.
Arfus: I didn't know what was going on to start with, a bit flabbergasted. But when it dropped i was like woah. Really like your unique style here. Only 2 main crits really. One being that the bass drum is way too resonant, so it tends to clip a bit. And that drop deserves a WAY better intro I'm afraid. Top level tune man.
Swissdub: Some amazing accapellas going round at the moment. This is one of the most professional tunes from an amateur that I've heard in ages. Really really amazing. My only slight crit is that the main synths may be a tad loud, as the beat tends to get a bit lost in the main section. Definitely one of the best tunes I've heard in a while though!
Right, here's the first tune I've released in quite a while really.
Soundcloud
Would love to hear what you lot have to think. I'm really trying to get some major texture in here.
Sequenced in Reason 4, mastered in Logic Pro 8.
Cheers

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- DECEMBER 2010
@debaser1
the intro has a distinctive 80's kinda feel. 0.30 sounds like someone had turn the volume up, not sure if it was on purpose? good sounds, decent mixdown and nice progression. the movie(?)samples are also good. the part beginning at 2.40 or so is a bit annoying. the sounds could be a little fatter and organic, it sounds a bit plastic. all in all, the song itself is quite nice but i'm not sure about the sound. i'll give it 7/10 on a scale of 4-10 anyway! keep up the good work.
@Pony_boy
nice 90's hiphop kind of piano. i'm not an expert in breaks, but is this breaks? i guess you got something going on there, but this isn't really my cup of tea. at 1.30 or so it starts being a bit better but still not really feeling it. but a lot of stuff going on there and nothing really sounds out of place. keep workin man. 6/10
@Brownz
this one could use a little variation. especially the drum track gets a bit boring. alright sounds anyway and you've got a powerful sense of dread captured there my man. can't critisise the mixdown either. gwan brah!
7/10
here's my new bit, listen and comment please! don't be shy to follow me either!
