Re: 3za VS Legend4ry tune battle
Voted A after listening to them both and thinking which of these would I rather hear again.
Both well produced and reckon with more time spent on them to add more elements/more variation they could be much better. Feel like they are lacking "something". But guess thats to be expected when producing a tune in 48 hours (assuming both parties had other commitments throughout that time)

You should really be able to figure that out without our help XD3za wrote:who is who?cloak and dagger wrote:hmm after a quick browse through both of their soundclouds, I could easily tell who did which one, to be honest

Put your money where you face is.
SHIT... why would you do that?
Do something with your money and your mouth (or face if it is not coincident with your mouth).

Re: 3za VS Legend4ry tune battle
Put your mouth where MY ass is!
Anyway, I'm saying A is Legendary, B is 3ZA
just based on a lot of things I noticed on their soundclouds (sample/sound choice, rhythm, atmosphere, EQing)
I guess if I'm wrong I have to battle someone, but the rule is that I can only use my GameBoy.
edit: I will still win, though

So literally everyone else thinks it's the other way round to me?? If I'm right I'm going to be incredibly smug...and if I'm wrong? Psh I wasn't trying to guess ANYWAY. >_>
Re: 3za VS Legend4ry tune battle
If that is the case, I'd change it to A is Legendary, B is 3ZA trying to sound like Legendary.cloak and dagger wrote:Anyway, I'm saying A is Legendary, B is 3ZA

Re: 3za VS Legend4ry tune battle
Finally landed on B for the vote, but both tracks were great especially considering the time they had. Very close for me.
All the elements in A are great, the stage was set, good chord structures too but it lacked anything that gave it character. There needs to be some kind of focus for the mid/treble ranges in there, a lead/vocals/whatev. Very solid bassline though, which leads me to believe it's ledge. Real straight dubstep vibes, well done.
To be fair I thought the bass in B was horrible, not in the rhythm but the pitches used, but the intro was very well done and the second drop was my favorite part. Sexy synths + interesting chord structure + the ethnic percussion & rhythm makes for a great recipe. I really wasn't feeling that flute sample though, too dry IMO.

Big up Legend4ry
I learnt a lot from this battle;
1. If your going to challenge someone to battle, pick someone who is shit, so you won't get your ass kicked.
2. If your making a track for a dubstep battle, make a dubstep track. not a massage parlor lobby, 'bad advert for coca cola, stuck in a Japanese lift in a shopping mall in 1986, and a soundtrack for a porn movie track.
3. its not cool to be a dick on the internet, and get dragged into beef.
4. To push even harder with my production.
5. lots more stuff...
As for the words on my bassline, It was the last element I add to the track it did not fit, and I did not fell it myself. I only added it, because this was on a "dubstep forum", and dubstep needs sub. My track was already a 90bpm porn groove, not having any sub would of made my chance of win very slim. I have been working on a revised version of the track that has a more fitting bassline, but its still not their yet.
The voting was a bit strange, but I don't think their was any cheating going on. After the first 12 hours I thought I was just going to scrape this, but I only got 4 more votes after that, and Legend4ry's track kept getting them at a steady rate.
group hug,
3za.

Disagree, the mixdowns, the sound palettes, the construction are massively different.nowaysj wrote:Both tracks could easily be from the same person.
LOL. You can make out the difference, doesn't reflect on brostep or deep or any other sub genre. It reflects your inability. Nice try though.Katthetat wrote:I agree with that! I didn't vote, I think Lege had the better overall production, but thought it'd be mean as I knew it was him as soon as I heard the tune.
I thought this whole thing was quality, so next time ANYONE has any beef with some shitty ill thought out or egotistical mod action of mine.... LET'S TAKE IT THE STUDIO HOMES.nowaysj wrote: 1. If your going to challenge someone to battle, pick someone who isn't a mod.![]()
