I wouldn't mind moshing to breakcore, but that's about it. Keep that stuff out of my dubstep, thank you very much.

Made it down to Leeds Friday just gone for DMZ. In terms of atmosphere, it was probably the best dance I've ever been to. The people were chilled and up for a chat at the bar or the smoking area, and no moshing.

I think it depends a lot on the club and its location. With the big, well-known clubs, like Digital in Newcastle I think a lot of people just say "Fuckit, let's just go to Digital" because they know it's there. With some of the smaller or more out of the way clubs (let's face it, you're not just going to stumble across the Vox Warehouse in Leeds - it's in the middle of an industrial estate), people are more likely to know about an event in advance. When a club is full of people who seek out dubstep rather than stumble across it, I think better nights happen.

From what i've been told its where the crowd seperate, face each other then just charge at each other like some set of fucking idiots

That is just ridiculous. Would not be surprised to see people get killed in those. If i saw one of those at a Dubstep rave id simply walk right out. If the DJ asked for that to happen he'd probably get a shoe thrown at him or something.

Wall of death is "okay" in metal, because that's what you do on a metal gig. Lots of energy. Same with moshing. Sure there are a lot of immature little assholes in metal(okay, a lot), but there is in every genre!

filthy_ wrote:i saw excision in nyc with my fiance a few weeks ago, never had a worse time seeing any form of dubstep.

in part, i blame the venue for allowing in underage hipster emo douche bags. kids moshing, pushing everyone just total idiocy. one kid broke out and hit my girl in the back, if it wasnt for a witness, id have been kicked out for pushing him down the stairs. and to be honest, i saw skrillex a few months ago and it was not NEARLY this bad.

I don't usually get involved in threads like this but this is getting twisted now.

The Excision show in nyc was a 16 plus show as a lot of his fans are aged between 16 and 21. It was advertised as a 16 + show for over 3 months.

I was at the gig from start to finish (BFM were part of the promotion team), the section in front of the stage was wild but people wern't trying to fuck each other up, kids having fun is all. There were places to plot and avoid the crowd going nuts for the music if you just wanted to have a bop with your girl. I was there with mine and we had a great time.

If YOU choose to go to a show that is aimed at a younger audience, how can you moan about it being a younger vibe when you get there?

It's not on the venue it's on YOU to be clued up about were your going. It seems very much like you went to a show without really paying attention to what it was and were surprised with the outcome, that's no'one elses fault but your own bruv.

At the end of the day, 2000 womp fans invaded Times Square and the place was electric from start to finish. I'm 35 years old and even and old git like me can see the good in that.
