*Edit* Apparently not

see, don't you think that if the american government were going to photoshop something, they'd do a damn good job of it? like, a really, really good job of it? good enough such that the average person can't jump to conclusions and say it's been altered? come on now

Fine, Americans have "respected" that and use it as their scapegoat to lie to the general public.
If he was killed today, they would have taken photos.
He was either killed 5/6 years ago, or is alive and well and under the protection by US government.
This now allows a perfect slide for Barrack for elections and an excuse to get into Pakistan.
No one is going in to pakistan. There is nothing to gain there. This is an excuse to leave afghanistan quicker than projected.

He didn't say the U.S government shopped it.
In this case the Pakistanis did.
Osama compound (allegedly)
"Bill Dedman, investigative reporter for msnbc.com, reports that the operation Sunday went smoothly except for a mechanical problem with a U.S. helicopter, which was destroyed to protect intelligence information, senior officials said."

wow, a lot of bullshit erupted in this thread overnight. most of the people spewing it are in high school or barely out of it... with the world view to prove it.
anyone with half a brain realizes this changes pretty much nothing. waging a war on an idea is a pipe dream in the first place.

Who really thinks that that photo was photoshopped by the US government? how dumb does one have to be
it's blatantly just some random guy or website on the internet who shopped it...

I was working nights last night so missed all of this until I came home this morning. By which point I was too knackered to even turn on the radio or check the BBC website for the latest reports.
Now I have to play catch up and I really can't be arsed.... my first and most over riding feeling is very skeptical. I mean, do the Americans actually ever send in wet squads that work? I know we've done it in Ireland, Palestine and so on with the SAS but the Americans... getting something right and a succesful end to a mission?! That's not the work of American special forces
Maybe the Royal Wedding was media camouflage?
Maybe it isn't OBL but that lad I went to school with's dad - he looked awfully foreign?
*shrug*
Top n bottom of it is I find it difficult to give a fuck and I can't put my finger onto why.

Probably because you know that...really, it never truly was about Bin Laden, was it?
I share the same feelings on the matter, realy. Or lack thereof. I don't really think this will change much. If anything, it may encourage some Americans to believe that they've been fighting the good fight all along. But to me, it's more of a celebrity death of someone most of the world mostly forgot about anyway. Or didn't consciously pay much attention to anymore.

you're right spewing things which have been said repeatedly by left wing broadcasters and then debated by those with a different world view is much better. you're so superior to other people, you and seckle should write a book (or just cut and paste bits from other books into a new one)

This. I was so upset they interrupted Celebrity Apprentice for this crap. Right during the boardroom scene… Which reminds me I need to Google who ultimately got fired…

It was the first domino. When financial crisis started after 9-11 our economy had been stunted for a few years because of 9-11. Add to that multiple wars.... it compounded existing problems. If 9-11 hadn't happened we would have had a down tick at some point but we would have easily recovered. Those 18-24 months of stunted economic growth set us back for quite a while and compounded a lot more problems.

Love nonsense rambling
this was the exact same point i made on another forum and everyone cried about it like they were so desperate for it to be the case that some greater conspiracy was afoot
its like everyone forgot the reason they were in afghanistan in the first place was to find and kill him
now he's 'dead' they need to go find and kill him in Pakistan too...?
its the perfect excuse to start withdrawing troops from Afghanistan surely, not sending them to Pakistan.
Thank you.
"624. If it is feared that an enemy may dig up the grave and exhume the dead body and amputate its ears or nose or other limbs, it should be lowered into sea, if possible, as stated in the foregoing rule."
From where Osama was allegedly killed (Abbottabad, Pakistan), US forces could have driven the body 18ish hours to the sea. @ the 'get directions' function of Google Maps.
inb4 they probably flew.

This, SO hard.
I'm not going to pretend I can tell exactly what has happened from my kitchen. Maybe he's been dead, maybe he just died, maybe he's still alive. It's common knowledge that our government has funded his shenanigans before, and maybe that has something to do with why we went out of our way to respect his islamic death. Or maybe it was to avoid some kind of backlash. All I know is that everyone thinks he just died, and that might affect the mindset of americans as a whole. 9/11 is the bare reason for our disastrous foreign policy and homeland security over the past 10 years. Plenty of people could see this as somewhat of a closure to that whole ordeal. For me, that's enough reason to celebrate. And I also don't see anything wrong with celebrating death.
One thing I don't know if i'll ever trust are those english subtitles on his videos...
