the venue used to be a proper mod hangout...

Croydon also blessed the world with Tracy Emin, Francis Rossi, Captain Sensible, Kirsty MacColl, Dame Peggy Ashcroft, someone from JLS and the girl group Eternal. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Ronnie Corbet, Dot Cotton, Noel Fielding and Ian Wright live around here.

Croydon is also used for a lot of TV and film work - parts of The Da Vinci Code and the new Batman movie was filmed here. It is also the location of the flat used in Peep Show.
