My english teacher gave me a weird look when I mentioned that as the musical instrument I played. Like the wtf stare. I had to give her the 'wiki wiki' dj motion to confirm what i meant.

Similar manic ctrl + z-ing on things that can't be undone (fuck you logic) then realising I was just changing a ton of other stuff. Drastically changing EQs because it doesn't appear to be doing anything, but it's just the channel EQ for another instrument. Do both of those all the time.

This isn't something embarrassing that I've done, but rather something I haven't done....this is gonna sound really noobish lol but
I finally made a reese on my own! Before now I just played with a few patches(one called izza reese boi - bigups to whoever made that :D ) and tweaked things.
What I was doing wrong before was I simply was being too weak with the detuning. I knew that too much would sound shitty so I very rarely ever pushed it far.
Such a simple thing that I overlooked that is the the basis of the sound.

But Im really happy now that I got it down. I'm feeling some dnb vibes *headbang* :corndance:

welllll thus far it would have to be spending a half hour trying to figure out why my synth instance in reason wasn't putting out any sound while everything was correctly wired only to find out that my audio preferences had been set to 'no sound.' :6:

This exact problem has caused more frustration then any other part of production... You make some killer sound to show your friend.. You press play And nothing....

Not embarrassing really, but the first thing that came to mind was:

・Send a track at 138 bpm to a vocalist
・Vocalist records vocals in Ableton, which either automatically shifted the track to 141 or read it incorrectly and the vocalist manually changed it
・Get back vocal stems without any mention of bpm (understandably)
・GO F**KING CRAZY trying to figure out why the vocals keep sounding weird and slightly out of time at like 32 bars in

I don't know if it would count as embarrassing, but I have a bad habit of messing around with fx and synths without putting a limiter on the master channel.

Every time I get a nice ear shattering noise I tell myself never again, then proceed to forget anyway.

very annoying in logic, i wish they would make it so you could undo plugin changes and other things like that.

Changing a killer bassline into a terrible one and pressing ctrl+s out of habit and never being able to re-create the same sound, nightmare

Probably throwing a utility onto the master, dropping the volume down -15 then putting it into mono...Only to accidentally render out, then delete the project files :6: :h: :corndance: :u: :(

This goes more under a dj, but playing a set on my friends serato, with the pitch faders way down(and on 50%) range, because I didn't realize, serato vinyls opposed to most vinyl are meant to be played on 33 rpm instead of 45...

I got a new one that happened last night

Was playing about with some ravey noises using a volume gate, and all of a sudden the noises were not in time with the beat. Now FL Studios plug in delay compensation has shit itself in the past on a previous track, so I turned it off, which made it worse. i then started turning effects off to see which the culprit was, then played about with PDC again. After ALOT of swearing at the PDC and how shit it is, i found out that Gross beat that i was using for the volume gate was set to an "off beat" preset FFS.

Just send the mp3 to steinberg, they should be able to rebuild the project file for you

....... wut? Didn't know steinberg had a separate department for wizards.
