I live nearish to peckam (about 20 minute bus..)

Its not that bad; train to London Bridge/anywhere with northern line and sit on it till tuffnal park; took me just under an hour last time train-wise (including waiting about). Took me about hour and halfish to get home as well on night buses; all in all pretty easy but more annoying than East.

mikey i'm thinking for cash really cos trains are pretty expensive compared to megabus.
