Well I have just had my usual 4/5/6 month break from it all. No point in forcing something that isn't happening. Even the pros don't consistently bang their heads against the wall they go off touring/DJ'ing or just generally take a break from making tunes.

I just don't. There was a point in time where I would try to force myself through those periods and all I did was find my self getting increasingly frustrated. At that point I'm not learning anything. I'm not making anything worth a damn. In the end all I have to show for it is a slightly higher blood pressure and some garbage I wouldn't even let my dog listen to. This is of course how I handle it. I'm sure plenty of people do force themselves through these periods and end up with something to show, but it just doesn't work for me.

I think it's ok to take a break for awhile. Sometimes you just need to get your mind off it. Music is a creative art, and if you feel frustrated that's usually going to be more harmful than it is helpful.

Yeah I literally have nothing left but a couple producer friends...doesn't really bother me either to be honest. If I wanted a regular life I'd have a job and all that other bs.

I know 0 producers in my local area. I'd like to meet some, cause I find hanging out with regular people just does not satisfy me anymore. There is very little people say that has any interest to me at all. haha, fucking depressing sounding, but it is for reals.

Getter is from San Jose, I can drive up to San Jose and meet you at a starbucks or somethin, its like 3 hours away.

I've been living by myself and been a virtual recluse for the better part of a year, to the point where creativity has pretty much consumed my life. If I don't produce I do other creative shit, mainly writing prose or reading books, watching movies, thinking and analysing shit too much.

Then again, I've always been an obsessive person. Music isn't really a switch with an "on/off" - if I have the excuse, I can and WILL talk about music, or get bored with the people I'm with wondering why we aren't - not exactly friendship making material.

Sometimes I wish I had that problem so I didn't waste all my money every single month on going out getting hammered all the time. Especially seeing as I am almost 24.Would actually be able to afford some more production gear.
