My advice would be to save as much as you can possibly afford. Live like you was living with the money on your previous job. Then take that money and buy yourself a house then you won't have to work anymore and just make enough money to get by and be happy with you life and do the things you love.

good advice mate, there is only one thing i want to buy, ive never really had the money to reward myself, so i really want to buy a mitsubishi evo lol. once i get that, me and my gf can move out with both our incomes and life should be good from there.

I'm in a minimum wage office job atm. Also not great but if I'm not kept busy I start to do my own head in. I don't really want music to be anything more than a hobby... it's enough to keep me satisfied.

I honestly prefer working a semi-interesting salary job outside of music than to work within music.

All day studio sessions and the potential to be out live engineering 2+ times a week sounds fucking dreadful. The couple of weeks i spent engineering for friends and stuff were some of the most depressing in my life, you REALLY got to love it to enjoy it.

It's interesting how some people here have actually managed to get jobs in music. Wow.

I have really good grades (still in school) and probably won't have a problem getting a normal job, but I honestly am surprised that people do work with music. Like actually pay bills, with music/engineering. That's a lot of money.

Maybe there's hope!
