Yeah it was a really good night, enjoyed the roots session, Quest smashed it... Vivek was better than I've seen him for a while. Wen was was alright but I was kinda put off by the poor mixing, and I felt bored by a lot of the tunes, not really feeling much '130' stuff I've heard.
Danced pretty hard, so worn out! Nice to see you again Wub.

Big night. Great to see everyone. Big up Jim & his godzilla impressions for Smear Dub VIP
Nice to have SP on mic too, perfect host!
Anyone else think the rig was quieter/less weighty than usual? Was fine right next to the stack but theres normally nice pressure a few meters in that wasnt really there last night. Mightve been cos it was rammed.
Wen ending with Spinline - Monday Luv was A LOT. Totally forgot about that tune. Murdered out...
VIVEKS set was big also but strangely muted reactions for Malfunktions & similar big tunes.
Roll on next 1. anyone catch any info on that?

Marcus slowly getting more rowdy as the night went on till he was leaping around with the rest of us was pretty funny to see. Ive felt bloody awful all day for it.

i sorta figured his album ever coming out has almost become a bit of a joke haha, yeah would like to remember what's gonna be on it but he did say it was a bit secret so it'd have been a bit snaky to post it on the internet anywayDiegoSapiens wrote:and you didn´t ask him if he was finally going to release his album? :corn cry:

Re: SYSTEM 2ND BIRTHDAY
Ok, now I've had a proper bit of kip can review properly.
Pure chance I got on the same tube as the Ninjas I was going to surprise, so that was a good way to kick things off. System itself, roots section was as it usually is, though did go on a bit too long I felt.
Wen's set was on point with his tune selection, but his mixing was a bit on the shit side and was killing the vibe a little for me. After he stacked the fourth or fifth time I remember yelling out "YEAH, 130!" and having some random bloke tell me to shut up.
Enjoyed VIVEK's stuff, agree with the comments above that the atmosphere was a bit better than I've seen for his sets before, which can get a bit plodstep. Never been one for the naming of big tunes like some of you lot, but I'd heard a few of them before and enjoyed them, so all good.
Quest was fucking AMAZING, easily the best set of the night for me. Just nice grinding stuff, think he dropped a Joker tune in there (someone mentioned Purple City but I'm not sure exactly?) and he was last tune (Quest - The Oceans Of Time, cheers for the ID on that one, Wilson) was incredible. Proper grooving stuff, really enjoyable.
Gantz I enjoyed more than I thought, I hadn't really understood the hype that he gets around these parts, but in fairness this was the first time I can remember hearing his tunes on a big rig and they did make a lot more sense. Good bit of hip hop at the start (MF Doom I think someone said?), then into the bass. Sounded like he had technical troubles halfway through, the mixing slacked off for about 10mins in the middle, lots of folk with flashlights checking connections and I thought I saw him with his head in his hands once as well...also he looked a little worse for wear when he came on, though I might be mistaken.
Good times overall, great crew of people there, couple of folk missing that was a bit gutting (Magma, Wolf, Xena, Bry, Will) but other than that easily one of the best SYSTEMs I've been to.

Re: SYSTEM 2ND BIRTHDAY
Massive massive massive night, great to see my right stack crew again, lots of enjoyable sets, wen was alright despite the sloppy mixing, vivek was just sick, set of the night for me, smear dub vip was just stooopid, quest was great as well, opening with hardfood was too sick, was really looking forward to gantz's set and he didn't disappoint, that invaders tune he played near the end was so fucking heavy
sick night as always
