with burial we dont KNOW who he is, so we r free to make him in our image, make him b whatever we want him to be. clever marketing or a happy accident, its the persona u buy into with burial
....it worked for god....

seriously though

"enjoying music more the less you know about its makers. "I love that with old jungle and garage tunes, when you didn't know anything about them, and nothing was between you and the tunes. I liked the mystery; it was more scary and sexy, the opposite of other music."

with that quote in mind i would say that it's not accidental, the no persona persona is an intentional part of what he's doing. like another aspect of the music. another dimension that compliments it. it's genuine. and people respond to genuine, ergo good marketing as well. not just a trick as you imply.

All this talk of Burial's anonymous nature reminds me of the chart singer Gabrielle* who only had one eye, and hid it all the time with a fringe or eyepatch. I think they should do a collaboration together and called it Gaburial.

i've already taken a link down off this forum. please don't be so stupid as to post links here or discuss the particulars of such links.

it's inevitable it will get leaked on the internet but this forum does not want to link to that content.

just buy it. it will be the best 9 quid you've spent all year.

First topic of discussion:

"Foucauldian analysis of Burial wihtin the context of hegemonic marketing discourses"

I'll bring the tea and biscuits, someone else can sort out the razor blades.
i'll do it, got some left over from the last party i had.
Around May 2006 that party wasn't it?
Yes. Unfortunately there were no survivors.

I thought it would have been the razor blades, but apparently a particulary large discourse lept out of the hosts' cupboard and engulfed everyone in the room. It also nicked the sofa, putting paid to any further book groups.

But we shall not let their loss be in vain!

 brilliant, but i must say let me get tired (wont get tired of it though) of this one then we can discuss the hi-tek ultra darkside's new album
Suddenly, there was a terrible roar all around us, and the sky was full with what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, and a voice was screaming:
Holy Jesus. What are these goddamn animals?
