Can't wait for this! Definitely a few surprises! Was hoping someone would pick Joker, didn't reckon Kode 9 though... Cyrus too, guys been a round for a while now, great producer though, so sure he'll kill it!

Long over due for the Chefal to be present on Radio 1.

I just want him to play Reminissin' and steal the mic and sing to it like he does on his Rinse shows :D

mary anne hobbs wrote:the original DUBSTEP WARZ DJs are to be reunited.. to curate a brand new show for me on BBC Radio1...

i've been given the opportunity to do a very special one-off show at the BBC's Maida Vale studios.. which we'll broadcast on Radio1 Tuesday nite >> Wednesday morning AUGUST 19th >> 20th.. we'll also be filming the whole thing for YouTube...

i have invited the original Dubstep Warz 7 - Mala, Skream, Kode 9, Vex'd, Hatcha, Loefah and Distance - to choose one artist each to play on the new show.. which will be called GENERATION BASS...

and it's on!!

listen to the show tonight and in the coming weeks for more details... and of course, the unveiling of the new GENERATION BASS line-up...

much love and maximum respect to all involved

truly..

we recorded a devastating Generation Bass session at Maida Vale last night.. a thrilling glimpse of the future for this sound..

the artists who played have pure love and maximum respect from me..
Silkie & Quest, Kulture, Joker & Nomad, Starkey, Chef, Oneman and Cyrus

it was a serious challenge to follow Dubstep Warz.. but all the DJs came with such deeply inspirational new sounds... they clearly and brilliantly chartered their own new terrain...

you can hear it Tuesday nite >> Wednesday morning
2am-4am

rewind and photos on-line at:
www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/maryannehobbs

video footage of the sets and interviews with the 7 rising, coming soon at:
www.youtube.com/maryannehobbstv
