Yeah, I guess it's not so much about weaker or harder as it is about having to jump through a lot of hoops to get a certain sound - which is fairly hard to pull off convincingly - in order to fit with what people expect. Dubstep has a lot less preconceptions at the moment.

Good! Busy at the moment with a newish job and getting settled in London, though... will have to go for a pint again sometime.

from all that i've heard, in terms of sheer production value...dnb beats out dubstep by far

that's not to account for the content tho

Production Value ???!!!!!??????? what should that be, commercial Techno, Britney Spears, Spice Girls and Destinys Child would be the highest on the Production value scale ???!!! ;-)

not really, no. Now, some choice metal and rock/pop is certainly up there.

Like I said, I wasn't accounting for the content within...only the mixdown/production aspect

and there are some IMO - i.e. broken note - that just fuckin kill it on the engineering side of things (on top of doing ill tunes to boot)
