Micheal Jackson taught me that electric guitars can be funky(Ok it was Quincy jones's idea to use Van Halen for the solo but what a tune) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkGOiS75 ... re=related

RIP

i got given bad, thriller, pink floyd dark side of the moon, a bit of abba and a queen album as my first ever music by my dad. so in that way he influenced my musical taste from day 1.

however, it has been about 16 years since i listened to his music properly and i am not going to jump on the RIP band wagon like everyone did with dilla.

the news of one man's death has completely shifted media focus and therefore political focus away from some fairly important international events at the moment. such as the iranian election saga.

i wonder if MJ's death will spawn a new offshoot of hip hop like dilla's did with "wonky". maybe it should be called "jaconky". boom bap entire composed out of excited breathing noises.

''In the hours following Jackson's death, his record sales increased dramatically. His seminal album Thriller climbed to number one on the American iTunes music chart, while another eight have made it into the top 40.[161] In the UK, where Jackson would have performed less than three weeks after his death, fifteen of his albums occupied the top 15 spots on the Amazon music chart.[162]''

Thriller was #1 on the charts the day I was born- I can honestly say I never have, and never will live in a world without Michael Jackson.

Everyone's time on this world is short, but his influence on the music world I'm sure will resonate for generations to come.

Rest in PEEEEE-HEEEEEACE, Jack-O. Definition of legendary.

My first ever LP was ''Bad'' even tho i think ''Of The Wall' was more ov a classic album music wise, but none the less, i was on the decks @ B.O.M.B when people were showing me text messages on their phone what happend 2 him,@first i didnt wanna belive what was going, and then i put the radio on on the way bk home,EVERY RADIO STATION WAS PLAYING MIKE,even certian pirates were and dats when it licked me.

Micheal jackson was da first peron ever 2 inspire me as a kid long b4 i discoverd electronic music, and i think its bad so many people are taking the piss out of his death.

No 1 will do what he's done again, ever!

i work for a ticket agency that sold for his tour. at 9 this morning people were calling up to ask for refunds. i mean seriously, he's not even cold yet, have a bit of respect. gotta feel for his children too.

As Larry King said (apparently)

"If you thought the hysteria and controversy surrounding Anna Nicole Smith after her death was something, you ain't seen nothing yet."
