skream's remix was on daytime and nightime rotations...not only on kiss but radio 1 as well. i listen to the morning shows on the beeb. they cained the fuck of the remix, and the original got barely any play. again, hats to skream.

depends what was negotiated really, might have taken a flat fee - that is usually how most majors would do it - depends on your negotiating power really. Needless to say he has more then me

The B side MADE THE SINGLE. What are you smoking.
I work in a place where the single is sold
nobody asking for it knew who skream was when i mentioned he (being local) did the remix on the b-side
whether it's better or not people didn't buy it for the remix...
the album is in the top ten at the moment...do you think that's all down to the remix as well?

It's not just about if it was all over BBC radio one or kiss, think about those playing it out to a wider audience. Was all over NME. Regarding it being a top 10 track - I work for a media company and understand how digital distributors work. The remix was part of a bundle, whether you downloaded the remix or the original it still counts as a hit for that particular bundle - which is why it's in the top 10 in iTunes for a month or so.
I don't think La Roux would be as big as they are now (yes it's two people -technically at least) if Skream didn't do the remix. Everyone I've spoke to about it (unless they love the 80's) prefers the remix. It's the only version we bothered to queue on spotify.
The 400k is his remix alone. If someone bought the CD then that's 1 sale for each surely?

I haven't looked at figures and for the record prefer the remix but working in a shop and talking to customers in croydon i can only say that the name skream mystified everyone buying the single when i told them the remix was done by a local artist....im' not trying to diss him....i do all i can to promote and sell his cds and as you may know have ordered in every dubstep cd available and we sell more titles than oxford street as a result.....i don't get the mentality i really don't on this forum....it makes dubsteppers look bad.....how did it account for 3/4 of sales exactly?
