debaser1---- get some modulation going on with those pads & bring them down... they are taking up way to much energy in the track!
those keys sound cool. but I can't hear them cause of the pads. boost it around 8kHz so it cuts through. even ya drums (as repetitive as they are) aren't cutting through. remember that the bass & drums are the most important things in a track, everything else is just filler!!
everything is too wide. ya need to create space for everything by panning off centre & mono certain elements.
ya got no sub it there either... everything sounds like its sitting between 100 - 14kHz.
there is some real nice elements to this track.... but ya drowned them ah!
create space & bass bro!

I bet most peoples work sounds something like Ranes' when first starting out. Gotta start somewhere right?
If i posted something like this when I started out & got a reply like I gave, I would work hard as fuck to post something decent the next time.
theres nothing I could even give advice on. in any context of music, from any culture in the world.... its just a half assed boring and shit track!

If you can't take criticism then you shouldn't be making music. Not everyone will like what you're doing, and if you're blind enough not to take on criticism and learn from it and improve then maybe you shouldn't be making music.
And Sirius, I've taken out some of the high mids of the pads etc on my track, and youre right, gives the bass n drums much more presence.

For what its worth, Sirius has got some solid production knowledge under his belt and has been HIGHLY helpful in multiple threads I've been diggin through... That being said tho, (and not being able to check out the track myself, as I'm at the office and we've no streaming audio) Raynes, you can't please everyone. Take it and learn from it. The underlying message I caught from his post was add interest and melody. Based on the feedback it sounds like it's a bit dissonant and static. Just saying, it seems there is in fact something to learn from the feedback, even if it was a bit blunt.

Just had to jump in on this one, as I heard a load of harsh shit flying around.....I really can't work out why this site is so different to Soundcloud where comments and feedback are concerned. If the people who are making such harsh criticisms are that experienced in production, then why are they not able to give pointers and empathise with new producers??? I mean please....everyone knows people have to learn and take hits...but come one, are you really that fuckin immature that you have to try to make yourselves look big on a site by ripping into someone??? Cuz that's all the people are doing it for......why else would it be??? Telling someone that their track is shit in such a pathetic way...The top dubstep producers don't need to do that, so why do these so called 'experienced' producers need to??
Either that, or the guys making the comments are just young and trying to prove a point or something. It really confuses me. Use this as an example.....I can't stand Tina Turner music......but I don't go on forums posting the fact and ripping people's heads off about it!! Dubstep is so full of variation that just cuz YOU don't like it, doesn't mean that it's shit!! People need to give ADVICE AND GUIDANCE to help people learn.....not more bullshit comments. How are people gonna learn from that??? Making someone feel bad isn't the best way for them to learn, so anyone who thinks it is, just has way too much time on their hands....so really they can't be that good at making music, cuz they're wasting studio time acting like 6 year olds.

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for OCTOBER, 2010
.......and another pointer.......if someone gives you shit feedback in a harsh fashion, check out their Soundclouds........judging from one example above (again not you grime syndicate, your reply was very adult and faultless my man), the page is more than likely shite with fuck all plays.......experienced producer???????????????????????????? HOWEVER IF THEIR PAGE HAS MILLIONS OF PLAYS, DROP THEM A LINE AND ASK FOR REAL FEEDBACK......IF THEY GIVE IT, YOU'RE A WINNER....IF THEY DON'T......MERELY SEARCH FOR ANOTHER WHO WILL.

EZ Sharpa.....track one Eminem Remix - I like the DNB tempo and the kicks and perc are good. In my opinion and that's all this is....I'd have left the vocal sample out. My reasons - Because people instantly compare it to the power the original has. Although a lot of hip hop vox fit Dubstep, due to the tempo, not all go well. Have you heard 'Bigger than Hip Hop' the WTF Dubstep remix?? Not sure if the title is correct, but it really works the two elements of Hip hop and Dubstep together great. The noises in the track are good, and I think this will be an area for you to focus on...seeing as though in both tracks you seem to have the drive to try to make a good noise. Lots of people don't like the mad noises...but I know as well as lots of other people....they are very hard to make at times. Push yourself that way - when you spend hours making just one noise, you learn so much...and gain way more than 'one noise's worth' of experience.
Track two - I like this. Again be careful with the famous samples.....people will be out to shout at you if you get it wrong! If they do, let it roll off your back. The noises are good in this. A little too loud and drown the kick and perc out..try a little more compression around the kick or just turn down the rest of the stuff goin on.....but then again I'm far from a mixdown expert. Each person listens to a track in their own way....so one person may like things a different way. I like the bass when it kicks in too. Deep and full. The end of the track with the flange shit goin on is cool. If I were you, I'd take that noise out....and REALLY mess about with it. I mean everything you can think of...pitch, LFO rate, reverse it, bend it, layer it up, make it nasty. A REAL VERY FAMOUS PRODUCER ONCE TOLD ME.....''If YOU and YOU ALONE like the music you make, then what does it matter''...however in this case I like it too so all is well. Peace out bro.
Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for OCTOBER, 2010
Big MD- I couldn't figure out if you were serious with that track or not cause I listened to your other tracks on your SC and I liked them a lot better. Anyways, it sounds very unexciting to me, when I looked at the waveform, I thought something crazy was going to drop after the intro. Adding more instruments and fx would be cool
Tripwire- I listened to both your tracks, I really dig the atmosphere in both, but I was waiting for the bass to come in on the radiohead version. But cool song regardless.
Here is something I just made. It's really simple cause I can't think of any other melodic line to fit into the song.

Haha. I must admit if someone told me my tracks were shit (Which i'm dam sure there are some people that think so) I'd probably get my back up, but then just think fuck, have to try and prove them wrong now.
Keep at your tracks bud, make that shit better and make people wow at them
