i can recommend that you don't watch Penny Dreadful.

fucking disgusted some of my housemates liked it. zero plot, character buidling, dialogue etc., horribly fast pace.

How much have you seen? I watched the first episode and it was just all the characters going "WTF IS GOING ON?!" and me going "YEAH WTF IS GOING ON?!" and it explained nothing. Was gunna give the 2nd/3rd episode a watch before passing judgement cause the first was a big load of nothing.

I saw an episode of Last Tango in....I think it was... Carlisle
somewhere far northern and cold-looking.
I was strangely moved.
There was a handsome blonde woman with a cleft chin, in the process of becoming a lesbian
a young bloke badly beaten up for rooting a cop's sister
a sleazy geezer who'd cheated on the cleft chin and was allying himself with the cop's sister (played by an old Bill actress)
various young blokes studying at uni & trying to ignore the above sleazy behaviours by their parents
(and evoking my impression of several posters on here)
and an old bloke taking up with an old woman even though they are political opposites
and getting locked in a haunted hall overnight.
That along with patient characterization, snow, Land Rover & arson made it quite enjoyable.

Not as good as Jimmy McGovern tale mind.
Halifax...it think it was Last Tango in Halifax.

Atm the only shows I'm watching are Fargo, House Of Cards and Mad Men. Kinda didn't bother with Parks & Rec and Louie recently for no real reason, but I should watch them again.

Only on the first episode of Fargo but I can already tell it'll be great. It seemed very influenced by Breaking Bad, from bits of the premise to the characters. Lester is a lot like Walter, even with his mannerisms.

yeh hannibal finale was wicked.. mads' portrayal of dr lector has been the best thing in the show so far but that was something else.. the "he's in the pantry" line was extremely menacing and gave hopkins a run for his money i reckon. . gives us insight into how his character/mannerisms will develop in the lead up to his imprisonment i reckon..
