He makes a good point, associating the music with a face does in fact give a better understanding to it. Normally, I wouldn't give two shits about this, because frankly I like my dubstep like I like my prostitutes, faceless and heavy.

Re: The Face of Dubstep?
Skream's the dearly loved soul of dubstep, so I'll have to disagree on that. Shum might be right unfortunately. You just can't walk up to an average Joe and say "You hear Skream's new track?" because they'll look at you like you just vomited on yourself. Say dubstep to the average person and you'll hear "Scary Monsters was pretty cool".rayman612 wrote:i just realized im talking about something that has nothing to do with this thread at all
disregard everything im saying
face of dubstep is skream

Yup, him. He's annoying as fuck and I don't agree with everything he says/does, but he's right on that.Nevalo wrote:not that tnuc again

awful cringeworthy derivative shite music, i still have nightmares about that grimestep video.
Re: The Face of Dubstep?
Might be true, but you can't deny the point. Do you honestly think Skrillex would be where he is without the signature retard haircut and "I'm so broody and sad but I still smile so I'm unique" style? He's basically a shitty redub of Flux Pavilion.Nevalo wrote:nah he can fuck off, he pretty much makes shit up to suit what HE does....

"Those vocals are about as grime as Hannah Montana. Have you ever met a black person before?"

Re: The Face of Dubstep?
I literally cried laughing at his attempt at grime. Anuvahood ftw.Shum wrote:awful cringeworthy derivative shite music, i still have nightmares about that grimestep video.
Something else about him I hate is his attempt to make a new subgenre for every track. It's all dubstep or drum and bass anyway, no need to drop extra tags on it. Djent is fucking turds also.
Re: The Face of Dubstep?
i dont understand how someone could
make that "grime" video
edit it
watch the finished product
still decide to upload it to youtube

Yeah, Screw Up is probably one of my favorite tunes of all time in the sort of halfway between new and old dubstep. VIP took it to another level.Sonika wrote:Yeah that situation may have helped things a bitthe tune ain't too bad, just not up to standard with a lot of Subscape.
Didn't he give screw up VIP away for free?
Heard he has an EP coming out soon, and a track with Trolley(!!!)
I can't help but feel like some of the sounds he uses sound like the synth in Kids - MGMT, mostly in Turn Me On.
Re: Brostep - Part Deux!
Ooh that should be interesting ^ trolley snatcha's tunes are either a hit or a miss for me, hope this ones a hit!
