Easy all. Currently working on a project, pretty dark, dubby-wubby stuff. Feedback would be appreciated, advice etc. This is only my second 'real' attempt at dubstep by the by.

toki - nice, like the dark stuff, would like to check this out once completed

the bees01 - nice track, really nice production, although the levels seem a little off, are you compressing / limiting the hell out of it, as it seems the main bass is a little loud sometimes to the detriment of the drums?

This is really sketchy, been listening to a lot of four tet lately.

The spaciness is good. Sound design is pretty good too. I feel like some more progression with the bassline throughout the track would improve it.

Its only 21 seconds long??? I think you uploaded the wrong one there. Sounded alright though..

Production is pretty good, levels seem okay, except the kick isn't very audible. Some nice background voice pad type sound going on too.

As for my taste, I could do with some more bass and the wobble could use some jazziness.

thanks for the feedback Gorbek! yeah the drums need to be re-done, thats my weakest area. i have the "sit and stare at the screen while i hit play over and over" syndrome, haha.

ok more bass.. maybe some kind of sub drone. and yes exactly about the wobble! im trying to figure out how to automate the lfo rate, not sure how to pros switch it up so much.

Ok, I'm having another go with this mix. My first real dubstep track, any ideas or thoughts? I could especially use some feedback on the mix itself as I only have access to a pair of studio headphones and old crap speakers that don't do the sub true justice...

Hey there everyone, I'm Phraktol and I just joined the forum here. I have recently started getting into the dubstep movement and decided to give it a shot. I've been doing electronic music for years, and dubstep really stands out to me.

Anyways, here's my first dubstep track that i've ever made. it's very rough at the moment, mind you. Im using shitty headphones so i cant get the mix right at the moment, and i'm going to do more to the buildups/peaks in time, but for a couple hours of dicking around i think its pretty decent.

Let me know what you think, what fits, what doesnt, what should be changed and what you like most (if anything :D)

Thanks for listening, hope you guys like it! here's a link:

Sounds nice, and I can't hear a hint of the original. Think you'd be better off just calling it/making your own. 'Cause remixing Burial & Four Tet is a big ask.

Haha true that, don't get me wrong, I have no delusions of outdoing the original. :| I just wanted to do a remix and have it be somewhat different. I don't know if I'd feel right calling it an original. I'm basically just catering to myself with this, really. lol

For better or worse, here's the whole thang.
