@mthrfnk Cant complain anything wrong with yours, its solid very lively unlike mine :| but ill work on making it more musicaly sound and the levels advice and the drums was useful! The drop wasnt anything really i just wanted to post a couple growls and see how that went. Honestly this was pretty half harted but i just want try complet something for once not start something moderately ok and then drop it because i ran out of ideas. I literally saw feed me song like two days after i put the headshot sample so i though might as well put the other headshot from counter stike aslo with it. I just need more practice and patient and ill start making tracks like yours soon!

@mthrfnk, definitely good work. i felt that the riser around 25 seconds was conflicting with the melody thats over the top, and thats a shame because there is definitely some nice sounds in there. maybe just use a riser thats a little less tonal? all in all though, it sounds nice. like some guetta shit xD

@blinkesko, this is definitely very atmospheric and deep. i felt that the synth later on in the song was a little to raspy, but i definitely want to hear more of it!
:W:

@mtl6, nice melodies on this one. they ring in my ears quite nicely :) the song is predictable (in a good way). you know, you basically did all the right things progression wise. was definitely an entertaining listen.

here is my newest. its a little "noisy" but i definitely like the movement in it.
Lemme know what you think! :4:

@mthrfnk I can tell you put a lot of work into this, I really like the tension you built and the melodies. Good job!

@blinkesko lots of great visual sounds! Very enveloping and atmospheric. Good vocals and sound quality. Can't wait to hear more.

@mtl6 very unique! I liked everything I really don't know what to say other thank keep it up, I really enjoyed everything about this, it jells very well.
Very cheery

Here is my WIP, very noisy and experimental, it needs a lot more layers but I'm kind of stumped right now. Any feedback or criticism is welcome! Be harsh :]

@mtl6 The sound and mixing is pretty tight overall, but the structure is quite nomotonous, I personally would play with the bass frequencies a little more, like take a break part in the middle ( or better at the beginning) and cut low frequencies form the kick, then create some tension with some white noise maybe, or reversed stuff, and then drop the bass frequencies all together ( subbass+whole kick) , and then I'll get the good " OH YEAH HE DROPPED DA BASE" sensation. make that bass more like "playing hard to get" ( is it right?)

@ blinkesko I like the way the beat drops in, but maybe 2 minutes of intro are quite long... you could cut it ,or maybe make it more alive, adding some melodies n shit OR light percussions, just sayin'

@RATCUBE I like the tune, pretty deep, I especially like the breakdown part from about 1:20, it's creating a nice tension. If I could make a suggestion is that I would enforce the subs, like make those monitor pump some air if you know what I mean !

THIS DOWN HERE is an extract of a track I am working on, If anybody could let me know what you think I woudl really appreciate it! it's 90-110 bpm "dubstep".. THANKS :corndance:

@ Rawful; I really like your bass sounds. A lot. The low end seems to be a bit to dominant in the mix (imo), but otherwise i think everything else sets together pretty nice. Theres a really good display of audio manipulation here, but the track doesnt really seem to go anywhere.

@ Ratclub; Cool track. Im really digging that breakdown at 1:20. The kick sounds lost in the mix. The bass is nice and deep without being overpowering. Are you sidechaining it? Or just using one shots with a bit of decay? Because they have a nice thud, but seem to fade out. Not sure how i feel about it, but i think in the context of this track it works pretty well.

@ mthrfnk; Not sure why, but that reminded me of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7HmzwI67ec (no offense) :corntard: Only thing i can really complain about is the lead synth is a bit loud/shrill. Just hearing it once makes me not what to hear it again (the synth, not the track). Maybe just tame it a bit and it will sit much better with the track.

So heres my new one. I wanted to try something a little more traditional dubstep seeing as my last track was a brotastropie. I purposely made the sub stand out a bit more, and didnt really want a huge drop or complex melody. I was trying to make a track that just kinda flowed and made you want to bob your head. Lemmie know what you think. :D

hahaha I know what you mean tbh, that section is purposefully compressed + limited harder than the rest of the track so it's like a blast of noise but because stuff isn't mixed too great and there's EQ'ing to be done the main lead comes off kinda screamy.

man i wish I could write a track that'd get 96mil views even if it is generic pop

Your track is quite cool, but could definitely benefit from more progression, the sub gets a bit drony and the drums repetitive. Maybe some vocals might help this, even chops to liven it up a little. I know you didn't want a drop but try adding more dynamic range - as in you can create a quieter build but don't need a drop, just switch into your next section.

Im using a couple different basses, mostly coming out of massive, I am purposely trying to tease with the bass and make them thud and then kind of disappear, I feel like it makes the listener want to hear it more as apposed to having a long release or lingering sub. No side chaining yet, I plan to make a deeper sub and play around with automating that. Im not very good with EQing and Compression yet so any tips on making the track deeper and more full would be nice. I still need to add more layers of complimentary sounds and melodies but can't quite figure out what I want yet. I was hoping to gauge how to continue based on what people said here.

thanks! do you have any suggestions? should I add some elements or change the arrangement?

by the way I listened to your track and I really like the sub tone! what kind of synth did you use? also I like the way it fits with the kick

Rawful- heavy as hell! Grabbed my attention right away. Very cool sounds you got going there but I think a little more variation on the first main bass noise would be cool. Like for example I liked how you used a trance gate effect at that one part. Ok the second bass just dropped and its awesome. Very datsik-esque, keep up the good work. I like the arrangement cause it doesn’t follow the routine, easily-predictable drop pattern.

Crimsonghost- yep I like this one too right away. Such an interesting mix of noises its like Coki and loefah tried to produce trance. The midrange bass could use more variation. I mean like maybe add a couple other midrange noises to switch it up… a call and response type thing you know. But I really like it.

Ratcub- Liking the drum kit a lot so far….. Ooh nice synth and midrange noises. Need more subbass! I think layering the subbass with a little distorted sine could be nice. But yeah these synth+bass phrases are awesome- very creative. Good shit.

Thanks all for the feedback on my last little project, I appreciate it. I started a new electro-house project already and I like where it’s headed. I may need to turn the kick down a bit but I can’t tell cause of these shitty bose headphones. Thanks for all feedback! Much love

@mthrfnk: nice, very catchy stuff! I love that kind of vocal chops. The only advice I can think of is that you can try to make some more complex arrangement out of it. I'm really looking forward to hear finished track ;)

@Rawful: You've got some great stuff here man! Full souding basses, heavy drums, vocal scratching, everything goes well together. I also like the structure of the track. The only thing I would really change/improve is that transition at 0:53 which imo lacks something.

@mtl6: Kick is fine for me, but I think you should work a bit on your synths cause they're kinda thin (for example that synth at 1:16) if you do so, track will gain some more depth. I would also change a bit piano - make it less loud and add some more delay/reverb, but that's just a personal taste :P

@mtl6 try to slightly detune the OSCs , and slightly turn the phase knob, it should open the sound a little bit. What vst are you using for that synth?

its a supersaw in sylenth (2 saw osc's with 8 voices each) detune is set to the halfway point, phase is two-thirds of the way up, stereo is cut back about half way

First off, thanks for all the kind words about my track. Its nice to know that im finally starting to make tunes that people are going to like. :w:

I would say try and mess with the arrangement. And maybe add some sort of a lead. You have that big gap between the intro and the first drop, maybe stick a riser, or lead or something. Would really bring the track together imo.

I used Massive for the sub. Mostly a sine with some square thrown in there. Little chorus, dimension expander. And some compression. I know i did some other a little bit of other stuff to it, but i cant find the final mixdown. I think i may have forgotten to save it. :(

@xtb hm its not my taste but besides that hm i dig the melodies but not sure about the bass would love to have it just the sub (imo would have a nicer impact and the melodies breath more)
hm maybe tiny bit more impact on the snare and bassdrum they sound nice when the outro comes so yeah maybe just make more room for them just a bit

@mtl6 kinda dig the mini disharmonics in the first part. the drop at 2.46 sth is heavy though tbh you could do two versions one with just straight bassline power and a playful one. but yeah i do like this one just it feels like two songs at some moments

@crimsonghost really like the simple bassline melody feels abit like the older "brostep" which is nice i might have dropped one or two melodies when the bassline runs but thats just personal taste . or try to go down in freq to see how it sounds like filter down when the bass runs and up again when just the sub runs but overall its a nice song so far maybe a tiny clap or sth on top

@rawful def nice for brostep dunno what to change lol maybe make the screeches bit louder and the bass tiny bit quieter when they come in. hm and maybe the snare bit more mono again jsut tiny bit. like the metal parts though.

ok have two songs again but feedback for one would be fine too just those two i work on

bit lil wayne acapella fun :3
