Ya they definately had the 90's tape cassette feel to them, still goes hard tho... other than that I fux with some Danny Brown.
EDIT: Can't believe how much of a sellout rocky became in the matter of a few years... Purple Swag was revolutionary a few years back wut happen

I swear I first head purple swag like 2 summers ago, summer of 10, or maybe 11... I don't know I guess I get on his shit right away then, hipster swag lol
I definately thought it would revolutionize rap, a little bit... a kid from new york rapping all chopped and screwed ala Houston over dirty beats, sometimes flipping his style into that Bone flow... pretty much all the stuff I loved blended together
well i do agree that it was sounding fresh, especially at the time. wish he would've kept going in the direction you're talking about, i think the houston-esque nature of some of his tracks was definitely one of the most appealing things about him
