The Great Beauty
Beautiful little film. Felt like an ode to the time when italian cinema fascinated the entire world. Slow-paced, introspective, everything I like.

The 400 Blows
Truffaut's masterpiece, what else is there to say...

Upstream Color, very interesting attempt to connect science fiction and love; to the point where it isn't even really about scifi or love at all hahah. Carruth's got an interesting way of directing things, really breaks down the characters and show them at their most vulnerable. I'd recommend this

Did you like Forest Gump?
Forest Gump is such a shit movie, never got the hype, most unfunny shit ever.

Thought this was not bad, possibly a bit dated? Was expecting a bit more action being a Rodriguez film but was an enjoyable enough watch.

It cost him like $7k to make.

Recommend the book 'Rebel Without A Crew' that tells the story of him conceiving, financing, making and selling the movie.

Out Of the Furnace.

For having such a cast (Bale, Harrelson, Whittaker, Casey Affleck, Sam Shepard AND willem Dafoe) this turned out into a pretty standard revenge movie with a messy/jumpy script.

Great Americana surroundings and Harrelson (and to a lesser extent the rest of the cast) are very good in it. But it's all out flat, predictable and too straight forward.

4,5/10

snake plisken!

It's funny what big names they casted in both escape from New York and LA. Like super casts. Love both those films.

You should see if you can find this wub, it's one of those films where you don't know if it's the worst or it's genious. It has the director doing the score on just a single keyboard like with some of Carpenters films, in this case seriously good weirdo keyboard 80s stuff.

Just read the synopsis of that, sounds horrendous. Totally not what I'm looking for, I'm afraid.

Anyone seen this? Thinking of giving it a go tonight, Robert Redford is the only cast member and there's next to no dialogue apparently. Reckon it'll either be excellent or complete shit.

^^ I liked it. It doesn't do much special. But it's well done. The soundtrack is pretty sweet and commends the movies isolationist vibe.

Much better than Life of Pi any way... :) 6,5/10 for the beautiful imagery and the OST. The plot is rather straight forward.

Dallas Buyers Club - very, very average. Matthew McConaughey was good in it but thats about it, worth watching if you're a fan of his but not good enough to watch more than once. One of those 'if theres nothing else on' type of films.

Tyrannosaur - Amazing film. Not quite the level of Dead Mans Shoes.. but then again not much is.
