Snowpiercer

Really didn't think that this was all that good. Don't understand what all the fuss is about.

Viva la liberta
Toni Servillo's on a roll ! Great political comedy. I found it too short though: I wish the relationship between the twins would have been more developped and the film would have gone more into their past. Some things are just said without really being exploited, it almost feels like the film was robbed of a part of its story while they could've easily stretched it to 2 hours without making it boring in any way.

Mud- Good performances, quite enjoyable overall but no real need to watch it again. 6.5/10
Just sort of made me wish I watching True Detective instead.

Saw this movie once ten + years ago and I still remember the plot and most of the scenes/sequences.
I'd probably put this up there with Event Horizon, even though it's not really a horror movie.
Worth checking out.
Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel
I watched Joe (see above).
It was a good movie with a gripping final scene. It was also refreshing to hear Demdike Stare pop up in the score (and a few other decent bands mind you).
I was still not convinced by Nicolas Cage though it was probably his best performance for a while. Loved the final sequence.
somwhere between 6 and 7 out of 10.

kinski to cage to mcconaughey
with sam rockwell, gosling and franco 'failing' inbetween cage and mc
imo you dont see amazing actors that aren't camp some of the time, but the ones who aren't camp wont deliver amazing performances

Really?! I hated it, a lot. TBH theres a couple films I despise that people love, Zodiac is up there as one of the worst and a lot of people rate it.
Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel
No, I dont think that's the same thing. I get why someone wouldn't like Bad Lt. 2, but it was a Herzog film so I knew it would have those odd moments (like with the whole lizard fetischizing and the different tempos that made it trippy) and that maybe it wasn't a straight action film (which it's not). Totally over the top and a bit silly though.
Zodiac is just a bit meh isn't it?

Bad Lieutenant felt like it bordered on parody it was that bad, unless that was the aim but I don't think it is.
Zodiac was very meh, very meh at 3 hours long as well. It felt like 30 hours though.

Saw Man of Steel on tv.
Paper thin plot with no memorable characters. 75 % of the movie is a cg riddled fight scene.
2/10 because aliens.
Has anyone seen Transcendence?

Snowpiercer, but I didn't read or hear anything about it before.
first I thought it was a pretty straight-forward 4/10 movie until I realised this isn't another <input generic the people's champion in dystopia flick>. I actually quite enjoyed it when I started to embrace its weirdness.
solid 6.5/10 imho
