Sun, sea n booze?

Wasn't a holiday, have been on a management training course in Madrid for the last week. 38c heat non stop, free food & drink (inc. a fully stocked mini bar in my hotel room), no email access and general good vibes. Have come back tanned, chilled and with a strong desire to be more effective at my job.
Also pleasingly surprised with the amount of non dubstep tunes that are in the sample pack contest this month

Re: Office Steppers
I'm waiting for my own measly 3 week vacation from school in august. Finishing up the summer term, knocking out one of many calculus classes to come and a history class that is a complete joke xD I don't get how anyone can get below a 90% in this class lol.
Also luckily that 3 week vaca is when I'll be the most broke in the academic timeline, right before the next disbursement of financial aid, sigh.
>_> Guess I'll just haaaaaaave to sit down for 3 weeks and work on producing :3
in anticipation of my new desktop and new daw setup, woot! Go financial aid!

Re: Office Steppers
was told I have to take 2 days leave this month.
I kicked and screamed and then decided to take Thursday and Friday off.
How dare they force me to take time off.
So it`ll be production, tennis, squash and cricket.
My son goes back to school on Monday so it`ll be some nice time spent playing sport and producing.
Oh, I`m sanding down 7 very large double windows at home.
Add that to my list of things I`m doing.
Work wise I`m just starting a design on a spinning chuck for forming cones on catalytic converters.
Should keep me busy all day.

Re: Office Steppers
Anyone ever thought about ditching the office and going back to uni or retraining? My job is so unfulfilling that I honestly feel depressed about being here each day.
The place is run by greedy, fat fuckers and Im not sure I can be associated with it anymore. To put it in perspective: Last year my company made 300 people in its construction department redundant. The same year the director of Construction was paid an £85000 bonus for "achieveing and exceeding targets", a £16000 "goodwill payment" (what the fuck does that even mean????) and a £200000 salary. The fat tnuc doesnt even deserve a tenth of that...............
So what do you think? Am I too old to change careers at 30? I was thinking about teacher training, with a view to becoming a music tech tutor.

There isn't a day goes past I don't consider joining the army tbh. Officer training, already got a degree, could enter as a logistics officer and get something retarded like £70k starting, plus free room & board etc etc.
But that would only be an option if all else failed, like I had a personal life collapse or lost my job etc etc.

I`m doing correspondence courses.
Physics n what not.
It`s hard having a family, full time job and studying.
Rewarding but tough.
I had to take loads less subjects though as I took on too many and just saw my ass.
