Yeah, I know what you mean, but I see no reason to invite mainstream in and Kendrick either shouldn't have or he should've trusted his own ears that seem to work fine on their
own
I don't think its a bad record per se, but underwhelming to say the least. I think he's an incredibly gifted rapper technically but definitely not living up to his potential. Stylewise some of the cuts are straight up bad.
word.
james got it right shouting out schoolboy q also, in fact i'd go so far as to say that Q and ab-soul are both impressing me a lot more than kendrick as far as black hippy goes
it was all about cartoon & cereal for me, give me an album full of blinders like that and i'll hop aboard the bandwagon again.

Why the hell did Jay Electronica sign with roc? he seemed so anti-confirmative before...
As for Riff Raff I can't take him seriously at all, rambling on about which of his phones is the best.. Danny's dope though lol
And i havent heard anything new from Blu in like 5 years since that Exile album he did which was ill as fuck

Fair enough, mostly good shit - really can't get into Freddie Gibbs tbh (although that tune with madlib was sick)
been mostly bumping this guy recently:

Yeah he's better at rapping than he lets on, saying he's better at that than Clams is at producing might be a bit of a stretch though imo

I know he rap's like shit on purpose but wtf is with that, he definately wants to be different and have his own style, i'm alright with that, but c'mon g that's just pretentious, imo of course
