I was watching Eisenstein's Strike and the background music was some kind of noise/drone thing. Pretty weird.

The Man from Earth

wow
Calvary is amazing
better than the Guard
has had me thinking for daze.
an exposition of the modern loss of faith,
the wobbling moral compass of Ireland
pointing to cynicism and hedonism.
and it only just struck me
the analogy to Jesus' sacrifice
the daughter relationship is beautiful
the woman of the dead man is so admirable
the rich dissipate is so well acted
and the butcher's butchering turns out to be essential to the story.
and there's some laffs.

Yes, glad to hear good things about it, both the director and the priest actor have done great stuff before so hoping this new one wouldnt be a letdown

Locke
Really great performance by Tom Hardy, the movie needed something special like that of course. I liked it. 7/10.

Spirited Away. Great even though I had to adjust the subtitle delay a few times and it seemed like the guy decided to put subtitles in to fill some gaps in the story
Talked about My Neighbor Totoro in an animation lecture, think I'll give that a go next.

Watch Princess Mononoke. It's good.
Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel
princess mononoke is beautiful. would also add Secret of Kells
Syndromes and a Century. M8s, I can assure you that you wont regret watching this. Coupled with this other movie he made called Tropical Malady, Apichatpong has convinced me that he is one of the best directors around.
