I genuinely think Four Tet is making tame safe bland music and it just happens to be that the only way for him to seem at all exciting any more is for you to be someone living a boring life where you don't hear much new music apart from checking out what the guardian said was good while having breakfast. Everything is bland samples or sonically plain synth parts. When referring to his drums being the same I meant specifically his attempts at club based tunes he's done lately. They all have that slightly shuffley rhythm and boring quality to the sounds themselves. Look at Kool FM, the new track that wasn't the one just posted, the african sample based one I don't remember the name of. They're all just the same shitty approach rehashed.

and then by far the worst example of what's wrong with his music. That fucking Ellie Golding remix.

Thought it was quite a clever sample tbh. That might also be Terror Danjah's fault, never much associated Four Tet with grime.
I think it's disrespectful to release something like that as an original tune, would've been fine as a remix/vip/bootleg though.
