One of the producers I know back in Glasgow also has a raging hard-on for sharks.
Oh and nothing says 'hardcore producer' like acoustic tiles over the windows and two sources of sugar sitting on the desk.
those rane mixers are the business, one of my best purchases i think

I also have more AKAI gear that is not easily seen in the pic, such as the DR4d, DPS 16, and a set of AKAI monitors. A MPC 2000Xl SE3 on the way.

At the moment I use only my laptop with free synths. I know its holding me back a bit so I want to start building up a studio like all the guys in here, but i'm preetty much broke rite now so its gonna have to be in small steps. Baring in mind that i have crap technical knowledge what should be the first thing i splash out on?

Why not start with the basics, a desk & a chair

Nice *minimal* set-up...but speakers don't like corners, I'd move them along the wall a bit if you can

I need a cup of tea

beware of using two unmatched monitors tho, switching your eyes from looking at a screen with one refresh rate to another can do cause major strain to your eyes!
