Re: DSF SAMPLE PACK COMPETITION-26
Thanks for the kind words and doing a review for the track makers, I knew my whining would pay off. Yeah the bass was kinda fucked up, I made it on phones so I guess I can't hear the difference like you can, definitely not intentional. I had a lot of trouble with the bass I felt like the bass didn't fit with the song, not sure if that is the case or not. Agreed it needs more thought, tweaking and polishing. Glad you enjoyed some aspects of itAllNightDayDream wrote: The Sand - Those pads and atmospheres are so sick, dude. My favorite part, could listen to them all day. I think there’s too much contrast in your two bass pitches, though, one is much harder to hear and the other is a little overpowering. Really noticeable on my sub, not so much on my phones, though. Is this intentional? Good warm, subtle wobble too. I think with a little more development this could be a real interesting track. Like, REAL good, man.

yeah that tune was one of my favsparavrais wrote:I really didn't feel that one tbh, wasn't even in my top 5. No offence to whoever made it, just didn't catch my interest at all. How 'Sally Is A Slut' hasn't got more votes is beyond me. I think 'Titans' sure deserves to win but surely that should be second??

Congrats to Apastrat! Sealing the deal winning both comps, dirty bastard!
And thanks for the vote, Stealth Elf
Yeah I had the most difficulty with the bass in these samples, but actually loved the low end almost as much as the higher ends in your track. Glad you liked my tune, tootavravlavish wrote:Thanks for the kind words and doing a review for the track makers, I knew my whining would pay off. I don't think he does regularly but he has certainly been known to...I'm pretty sure I remember a track by him not so long ago in one of these.tavravlavish wrote:Does he do these things? just some filtered paulstretched pieces layered under the sample chopped up hip hop style. the bassline was just a little bit of the tail of a kick drum.
Re: DSF SAMPLE PACK COMPETITION-26
Nice, wasn't even sure if i'd enter the comp, as i only had time to finish the drums, but i'm glad i did

Re: DSF SAMPLE PACK COMPETITION-26
yeah congrats on the win, really good track, I voted for it, had to be done really as it was sounding proper, best track there. Props to whoever mad the Fat Red track too, maybe not the style of music I sit and listen to on a regular basis but seriously well put together given the source material, both in engineering and in writing, whoever made that one obviously knows how to put a track together, good musicality. Cheers to the 3 people who voted for mine whoever you were, it was a little rough and ready. I wish Id gone back in now and cleaned everything up because some evil frequencies and clicks seemed to emerge when soundcloud did its thing with it, too much rouge noise in the sub I think.
Cheers to Haack for getting it together, much appreciated, looking forward to the next one.
