weird though, forgetting that someone who you live with and ostensibly know well needs to be constantly helped by another person in order to move. not the kind of thing you'd forget really. unless your friend was lying on the news, and he can wheel himself.

What a cretin. I haven't forgotten anything, and I don't particularly care if you think he or I or anybody else is a liar.

You are irrelevant despite being an annoying little shit so I'll leave it to you to have the last word. Goodbye.

to play Devil's advocate for a moment

The disabled dude came across as a bit of a fucking dick to be honest, I bet he was being pushed in to the coppers to create a scene so he can get on telly saying how badly the police mistreated him. He probably hasn't made a complaint yet because he knows he was being a knob. How do we know he wasn't?

Hypothetical situation, but if someone kept smacking their wheelchair into my legs repeatedly I'd kick fuck out of him, disability or not

People seem to think that just because a guy is disabled he must automatically be a saint

the daily mail reporters are geniuses. there's no way the guy who wrote that did it in seriousness.

and I didn't listen to your mix mate, I was just joking, don't take it to heart.

Speculate all you want but the feller is my flatmate and he is a very decent chap who I can vouch for.
He is simply incapable of repeatedly bumping people with his wheelchair (he has CP for fuck's sake.)
Theoretically somebody could have done it for him but that wasn't the case, nor would it justify the actions of the police that followed.
As for the question over why he hadn't filed the complaint, apart from the fact that the independent police complaints commission or whatever it's called is a toothless, inadequate disgrace, Jody would like a bit of time to build a case against the officer (as the police often do when they arrest demonstrators weeks or months after they have taken part in a demonstration).

"The disabled dude came across as a bit of a fucking dick"

Only if you're coming from a place of extreme scepticism and distrust. Jody has every reason to be angry and vindictive but he behaved with considerable restraint during the interview.

Daily Mail's advice: if you don't want to get manhandled by the police, don't use your democratic right to protest. What a bunch of dicks.

Can't you see the funny side to how ridiculous their stance is though. The way they've presented it is so exaggerated they're basically mocking themselves/the right wing press.

Sorry if I'm a bit too close to the whole thing to see the funny side. Maybe if I was completely detached and didn't feel like I had a stake in the matter I would be laughing with you.

From the man himself:

http://blogs.independent.co.uk/2010/12/ ... hetic-now/

My name is Jody McIntyre and I didn’t begin fighting for equality on the 9th December, the night that I was thrown from my wheelchair and dragged across the road by a riot police officer. I’ve spoken out against injustice, in all contexts, for as long as I can remember. As someone who was told by doctors I probably wouldn’t walk or talk, it has been my objective since the start of my journey to inspire people with disabilities to demand equality. It saddens me to highlight that on my travels I’ve found it easier to travel in a wheelchair in Gaza city than in the City of London.
Hopefully this can go some way to shutting up some of the fuckwits in this thread.

I'm tempted to say "if you play with fire you'll get burnt", but gotta still feel for him either way.

What I dont get is why the hell anyone couldn't foresee that any government with a heavy Conservative influence wouldn't just make cuts left right and centre, including the education system. DID THEY NOT SEE THIS WHEN PICKING UP THAT PEN TO TICK THAT BOX??? :u:
