First off, thanks for the feedback :)
sprayyypaint wrote:710- haha the begninning is so epic! girls with downpitched voices crack me up! those wobbles are modulated really well! but they are too distorted. they pretty much have no force behind em. the sub sounds good to me though! this song could be huge!!! keep workin at it!
Haha, yeah as soon as I saw that part in the movie, I turned to the chick next to me and was like ..damn I gotta use this in a song. :corndance: But yeah, the wobble is pretty distorted haha, I was trying to go for almost a noise, so I overdrove and bitcrushed the shit out of everything.. and added some more noise to make it ..noisier? Haha so yeah, I can understand where you and oprs get the "too crazy" feel.
oprs wrote:710 im gonna have to agree with spray about zee wobbles. less is sometimes more! but i do dig the track. everything else is sounding pretty right
Thanks dude, I'm glad you think its sitting kind of right. If the way overdriven sound keeps pissing off too many people I may go back to the drawing board on that bass.
eb4evr wrote:dang. that track is absolutely sick dude. i've had a really good playlist going on my music player, paused it to start your song, and when it finished, i went back to my music player to see why it didn't go to the next track. so that's saying something!

i'm having alot of trouble getting my track to have that professional quality you find in good dubstep tracks. i've been djing around lately and i'm trying to get into production as well. i've been composing since i was fifteen for band and orchestra, but it's a different story creating the sounds yourself and doing all that, but i'm trying my best. any tips/critiques are GREATLY appreciated!
Hey, glad you like the track so far -- I understand your frustration in sound creation, man.. I'm barely scratching the surface and I already feel like I'm a genius compared to how bad I used to be. The coolest part about producing is you get a perfect way to keep track of your progression as an artist, so make sure you keep up at it! As far as your song goes, what DAW are you using to produce? The bang bang sample fits great for a dubstep song, good choice and work with it. You definitely need some bass in there like someone up there said.. Also, you might wanna look into different samples for the drums, they just seem like something that came with a program, but maybe I'm crazy lol.
DreamThief wrote: @ 710 killer-klowns - Love the intro, this track is feeling pretty pro.. If I had to change something I might add another snare on top 4 bars after the beat kick in just to raise the atmos and intensity.
Yeah I know what you mean.. I've been tweaking the beat around with some incidentals and shit cause I feel like a little more oomph would give the track a better feel.. we're on the same track.

chemical bliss. that track is insane. im a sucker for nice precussion work. the sound starting at 140 man intense work. i think the stabs around 2 are a little too distored and you lose a little bit but over all its really mellow keep it up

iota the build up at 140 definatly had me movin. not really feeling the synth work in the break down but thats just a preference. it still sounds good.

jr that synth is waaaaay loud. everything else was good. just didnt expect the loud ass synth coming in.

Soundcloud
workin out something for this months sample pack. the first a couple probably

so after hearing everyone out, i tried to do some experimenting. added a sub first and formost.

also added a little arpeggio action which i think kind of muddies up the mix and might have just liked it nice and simple like it was before. suggestions???

and thanks for the feedback from the gang i greatly appreciate it and glad im no longer being a baby and just putting my stuff out there hoping to get some help from others. <3s all.

@ oprs Soundcloud

Not liking the snare sound at all, sounds too much like white noise, personally I would change it up. Mostly a good track, put some more work into it and it will be better.

@ 710 Soundcloud

Cool sample, where did you get it from?

Awesome track although I feel that the bassline could be a little cleaner as in reduce the distortion by a little bit, otherwise its dancefloor mover.

Got a new WIP, not mixed down btw and put together in under an hour or so.

@traffek - Sounding a bit better. I really think you need to fatten up that lead make it more mid/bassy, I would duplicate your channel and work on the same sound but differently. What VST have you made this on??? Get it leading the track..

@zonetrooper5 - 'Regret' is the one which stands out for me. This is amazing work for an hour the key chages are delicious, delays working nicely.... this is def gonna be my kind of track when finished. Not catching on as much with the second 2.

teach me! How did you do that? Only suggestion I can make is the growly sound in the intro should be carried out longer with some reverb and the drums are a little boring...use some different drums and add some eq, and i will be like :e: :corndance: :n:

SERIOUSLY THOUGH! How did you make that terrifying bassline? I honestly was not expecting you to go all out Skrillex on my ears!

Thanks for the feedback, already got a second version, again hasn't had a mixdown yet and I might need to add some more stuff.

@zone: Not really what I'm into, but its got good ideas. I really like the perc subtleties throughout the song. I feel like more should be going on, but minimal is probably what you were going for.

@lowlife: Sick!! The arpeggios in the background alone make this song for me. Some of the hp melodies sound kinda silly and could probably use a little reworking. But the ending is sick with the strings, this reminds me of death metal fo some reason :cornlol:

@DreamThief: I don't really like the intro, but the sound at 2:16 was so fucking cool!! :corndance: The female vocal sample should be used differently, but it has lots of potential

Heres a new version of my last wip. Not sure what new parts I want to keep and what I don't:
