And its looks as if planets align will make it through to the next round! to keep things even, he had the most votes on a losing song. so on he prevails, never count out an under dog.

so what, i was certain i was gonna lose from the start :D
and yeah, we should deffo do this again. this really kickstarted my creativity (both wips in my sig were done as a result of that)

but let's try and not get it in the way of the sample competition, i think after this i wanna give that a shot too

lol I couldnt expect myself to win by making a different genre like I did. It was all for the fun, ya know? And those wips in your sig are really nice! But the drums on the first one sound really unnatural, dunno if that was on purpose or not haha.

haha thanks man ! gonna check out yours again in a minute
and well the drums... before i got into dubstep and drum n bass i was mad into this kinda shit:

you can skip to 3:00, the intro is unbelieveably long.
sadly the genre died out, quite a shame. there was unbelieveable innovation back then and it got me into production in the first place so i'm kinda trying to get into that thing again after messing around with bass sounds for so long.

oh, I see. So is it taking a drum break and chopping it up and rearranging the hits? Its sounds cool

yup, people been doing it since the early 90's but it's still mad fun.

the basses are usually made with samplers too, just sample a nice beefy 808 kickdrum, saturate a little and there you go. then reeses have taken over after a while and the chopped breaks got replaced by more straightforward and harder hitting drums and jungle turned into drum n bass (though actually jungle was called dnb back then because it was just drums and bass but oh well)

if you have a midicontroller with pads or a keyboard and a sampler like battery or so i suggest you just try it yourself, it's pretty much instant gratification :D

btw i checked your tune and it's funny because i tried doing something like that too at first (after a failed techno attempt  ) but i didn't get the drums and lead anywhere as good as you, there's potential in there! i suggest saving the patches and samples and revisiting the idea sometime in the future :4:

Why thank you! I dont have pads or a sampler like battery, but I'm gona buy a new controller with pads sometime in the future. And FL Slicex combined with FPC would do just fine, right?
