Please check out this tune and leave feedback. It's inspired by Sean Duffy the guy who got jailed for trolling memorial web sites etc. I think the vocals might be a little dry but not sure. We are Voodoo Trash. Cheers.

Soundcloud

@ Atemis-Cole - Like the old school drums on the beggining and the trancy buildup. The filth with the recap on the original synth melod is kewl too, I think the bass could be widerand do more as the melodic parts are so creative.

@ JKZ - Smooth round sound, like the prodo. Not a bif listener of UK Garage but I liked it ll the same. Was expecting a more pronounced garage bass to come in maybe mimiking the chords but that's just me.

@ Sante - The 100BMP one is epic mate. Love all the synths and creative rhymthic glyching. Love the tamborine roll at the beginning. Loved everything about it. Maybe could have some vocal talking sample or something on the Rhodes style break down but what evs. Loved it.

@RoscoeMG: loving the intro and that synth line; gets a bit too filthy for me at the drop but yeah its definitely sounding quite good; just bang in a nice sub bass and it'll sound way better :)

@sante: that 100bpm is very well produced, pretty much liking everything about it man big up :D

@FluidMoshun: you need to get those drums sounding nicer and more prominent especially that snare; but im liking the bass sounds you using.. maybe cut them up a bit more precisely to get that proper Culprate/Koan Sound effect where one sound stops and another starts; lool sorry if i didnt make myself clear, i dont how to explain it lol

Heres something I made recently; quite a heavy dubstep tune with a nice drum rythm, tell me what you think

Hi guys!

Soundcloud

I'll post some feedback as soon as I get back to my regular speaker system. Right now judging dubstep on a laptop just seems like a slap in the face for me. ;-)

@Sagal I don't know whether you played that melody in the beginning or it's a sample but it is lush! So dark, so eerie, but lovely! Really nice sounds. Oh my god there's some nasty sounds in this track but I mean it in a good way! Wish there was more variation throughout.

@Jizzman Song's decent overall, but I don't really like the sound of the mean bass. Feels like there cold be a bit more grit/punch to it!

@RoscoeMG Another wicked melody in this track, that synth is amazing too! Vocals are great. Bass is alright, feels a little off though. Slight bit too much reverb on it I think. Solid track though!

And now for mine. Be nice! :D

@nnny Thanks! No samples used. :) As in no melody samples and full phrases or such. :) I believe in "make it yourself" philosophy most of the time.

I listened to some of the tracks here and I'm definatelly gonna leave some of my opinion, but as i said. I'll wait until i'm back on proper sounding gear before doing so.

Newish track. Defiantly more club-oriented. Feedback would be great.

@RoscoeMG I really like the drop. Some of the buildup seems a little bit busy/noisy though. Really enjoyed the vocals as well.

@JizzMan It may be just me, but the wobbles seem somewhat out of time. They sound great though. Layering/compressing the kick would also help to fatten this up, I think.

@nnny I always love dubstep with solid songwriting behind it, and this is no exception. My one gripe is that the one guitar-ish synth sounds a little bit too stock for my tastes. Maybe a sort of classic analog lead there?

I was only going to post to comment on a couple of tunes but thought I might as well drop one in myself. Probably gonna re-record some of the vocal on this one.

@Sagal - Love the progressive lucidity (I think it was called that) track. Very original, altho I sometimes wish it built up to something with a more solid groove, but for a glitch hop kinda tune was awesome.

@Benthedrummer - Really liked this track, specially the live drum breaks, been trying to do something like that myself but you can't re-create that live sound properly. Thought it could have done with a few more incidental noises in there and maybe switching between the bass and the arping synth. Kewl tho.

This tune's called Follow the Track.

@Kongret - You sir blew my mind. May I request that you compress and limit sensibly, possibly shorten the ending then place immediately on my MP3 player. I thank you. Also can I suggest a collabiration on this tune? Can provide solid rapping and other touches. Check our stuff on Voodootrash.com to help make this descision.

@Roscoe: I'm totally into the melodic breaks in the main idea. Love that as I try to do that myself. I would high suggest cleaning up those bass sounds. Also let the bassline groove better by allowing space in the arrangement.
@Jizzman: the sub is nice and full. The groove is DOPE. Suggestion? Add another bass timbre and create a melody using the same modulations.
@Sagal: WOW! Love the bass. Is there granular synthesis being used? just love that field recorded-esque type sounds and then making music out of it. So appreciative. I really don't have much to criticize except that I love what you're doing.
@BenTheDrummer: Firstly, I say your kick has too much sub going on and isn't breathing well in the mix. Also it could use more top end to cut through the mix. Play a little call and response with your top end melody...I must say though, it's a bit high for the darkness of your wobbles. What I do like is what you do during the change of phrases. The novelty is fresh for keeping the same bass and just modulating it.

Here's another one for feedback (already done 6 comments)
This one uses samples from family guy and is sort of an old school riddim!

@wearecorsairs : Some good things, some not so good. The overall track is piercing my ears, to much hi frequencies for me maybe. Your synths are pretty basics, sounds really too electro. Your sub is too gentle. Your hats are missing groove, it really sounds like a machine. I don't like this full time part too. You should add some soul to your music, make it more groovy, just my 2 cent. There's some good thing on it too, but I think that the best feedback is all about the bad things, just my 2 cent ;)

@Sonika : I'm lost, I love snares, rimshots, claps. This " duckorgan " synth could me a bit more distorted, or just more present in the mix. Your hats are pretty good. The piano part could be more groovy by adding chords. Nice strings with that.

@Elefaze : You don't give feedback, you won't receive some. Read the (f.... ) rules of the thread.

@Toolman4 : Nice neuro track, your saws are to me just a little too low in the mix, very good job.

@RoscoeMG : Good ideas too in that, but your snare seems low in the mix ( yeah I love heavy snares ) and the end of track sounds really messy. More eqing maybe.

@BenTheDrummer : Filthy track, you should add more variation to your main synth, like automation waveform/filter/distortion each 8/16 bars. You've got to keep your listener aware.

@nnny : One thing : More variation only. Without that, really clean and nice track, and thank you for the DL :D ( best track of this feedback session )

Ok, My time now, as usual, deep tune and free for this new year. :) Soundcloud

@Darj - I could tell from your waveform this would be cool. That aside I think your drums could do with a little more variation, maybe 4 bar patterns instead of 2? to keep it interesting as it sounds very loopy. The rest of the song is amazing though, love your reece noises and those haunting synths. Not to mention your mix is so clean. Nice beat you got a new fallower ha.

@Toolman4 - God damn! I don't think I can say anything to crit this bad boy as any technicalities would be out of my realm.

@RoscoeMG - your open hat sounds much too loud in the mix and I would personally like to hear more interesting percussion/hihat rythms to make this song move a little better, the vocals as well sound a little loud to me. I think with those turned down to match the other elements this song is pretty interesting.

awesome tunes on this thread though wow.

@Darj: really feeling that one, I've noticed a lot of cookie cutter filth stuff on here, but your tune really sits well with me, I'm honestly so new to producing (this is my first tune ever!) that I really shouldn't be giving you any advice because you're way beyond me :lol: I value your opinion, so if you could give my track a listen, I'd really appreciate it!

This is my first tune I've ever made, please give it to me like it is, I can take criticism very well, I know it might be off but I'm just now learning about EQ and stuff like that right now.

Also, please, I know it's a lot to ask, but if you could please listen to it all the way through I would appreciate it, (I understand that an 8 minute track is a lot to listen to, so I understand if you can't). My intent is to make soulful bass music of a similar vein to Silkie, Heny G, Jazzy Jazzy, Quest, etc.

The reason I ask is because I made a very conscious effort to not have the same loop happening for 8 solid minutes. I did my best to make the song progress, there are a lot of changes that occur and an assortment of ideas placed all throughout the song. Thanks in advance. Side note: Intro is very dodgy, can't quite get it right.

Thanks again, heres the tune.

@Cornbreadddd
Nice vibes on this. I really like the various elements which make up the song. I think the drums (the kick in particular) don’t cut through the mix and I think the balance between the sub/bass and drums could be refined to make the tune cleaner and more defined. It may be worth shorting the mix just to get the point across better. Saying that I think the music and ideas are on point.

@LordBid
This is solid stuff. The arrangement throughout the first drop kept me interested. Thought there would be more variation on the second drop. Maybe a switch-up on the bass riff like what Reso does on his tunes. Was also thinking that some more panning of elements in the song would enhance things further, I’m only listening on headphones mind you.

@Darj
Yes, feeling this. The musical elements and edgy dungeon vibes are really good. The only thing I’m not sure on is the sub/bass level in relation the other elements of the tune. I think it could be lowered a tad or maybe have the release shortened. Outside of that, sweet track.

Soundcloud
This is my track, it takes elements from dungeon and the deeper side but is also go’s in filthy.
Thanks
