The things you say hurt :( It's about the love of the music. Drop the hate :|

I respect someone thats trying to do something for the music he loves, night tracks is an example of that love. On the other hand however, some 15 year old trying to tell us all that we should love nero, skrillex, borgore etc without any actual knowledge, experience or love for the scene is just a joke. Maybe i am harsh but sometimes people just need to be told to fuck off, feel free to tell me the same because i wont get my knickers in a twist because of it. :Q:

You don't understand though Meshblorg, 140pbm is one of the defining characteristics of dubstep. The tempo range that can be considered dubstep is narrower than other genres such as the ones you mentioned, but that's a tradeoff for having an overall more varied and flexible sound. Bassnectar has even said himself that he doesn't consider his non-140 tunes to be dubstep. Sure, there is some variance from 140 but 150 is really pushing it. Considering Crowd Control lacks just about every other convention of dubstep except for sub-bass, I really think you're pushing it to call it dubstep.

The Skrillex fanfucks are completely missing the reasons that this whole debate is, and forever will be, self perpetuated.

It's not that we hate Skrillex because he's mainstream, or because he makes music with tear out horrible noises and mid range garbage.

It's honestly quite simple. The only reason that 99% of us hate Skrillex is due to the fact that he is set up high as the poster child for dubstep when his music displays a very philistine, bastardized version of "dubstep" which holds so little resemblance to the original sound that we feel it shouldn't be known as "dubstep." Because it isn't. Thus, when all the little trend following teeny boppers say they like "dubstep," they are truly being mislead about the sound of a genre and thus believe that is the only sound to it, and therefore they aren't able to understand and experience the same deep sounds that we have come to know and love.

Furthermore, the mid range listeners treat it more as a trend, and as a novelty rather than serious intellectual music.

Same tempo does not mean same genre. Is heavy metal music at 165 BPM the same genre as classical music at 165BPM? No.

PS. The other 1% just really hate his fucking hair-cut.

It's cause and effect. The OP posts on what he likes as top 15 and most of you guys bitch & whine instead of respecting peoples opinions. I'm only here to bitch at yall for bitching. Keep the hating somewhere else cuz everyone understands that a lot of people hate skrillex/brostep. Your voices are heard, Good job.

I would back up any musician/help whoever that's getting nagged on. But do you ever see me or any of you bitching about Mala/Coki/Joker and such? NO you don't because we aren't little bitches. People that listen to all types of music never bitches about anything.

Leave music to the serious people that care about it as a whole of all genres & keep the sand out your vagina. It might help.

If you don't like a certain type of music or person(like me) just ignore them to begin with and no problems will be brewed in the first place.

the reason people bitched at the top 15 dubstep tracks is because more then half of 'em aren't dubstep. :i:

Lmao you really do pull a lot out of your ass. This forum houses some of the most diverse tastes in music I've seen on the Internet, not to mention hundreds of DJs, producers, vinyl collectors, promoters, musicians, music bloggers and just general dubstep diehards. How the fuck are you gonna say we aren't serious about music or that we don't listen to all types of music? Ha, get the fuck out of here you wanker.

Some people geneuinely enjoy tear-out / midrange stuff... you can't say to someone else that their opinion is wrong just because you disagree with it! (for the record I am in no way, shape or form a fan of Skrillex)

I genuine believe you are easily confused. It seems like you always take my posts for something that they are not at all. Never in my post did I say that other people were "wrong" for listening to brostep. I never even said anything hateful towards those people who do listen to brostep. Also, I don't believe that anywhere in my post did I display an "excessively strong opinion." I feel that hundreds of people over the forum feel the exact same way about the brostep argument. I have seen plenty of posts just like the one I posted, of course because mine says "Cornbreadddd" across the top it immediately gets shit.

Just chill out man, I feel like my posts are always mis understood and turned into something that they are not, like exactly what just happened.

I don't think you understand what he's saying here. 140bpm is the defining characteristic of dubstep. Nobody gives a shit about whether the music you like "rocks" or not, or how fucking popular they are, or who fucking likes them. The argument here is over whether or not they are considered dubstep, and thus far you have provided a total sum of zero evidence to prove your point.

tl;dr: Start making sense or fuck off.
If this is the future, it seems highly livable: shiny, cool and comfortably dissonant. Like a low dose of ketamine in an empty, luminous airport hall in northern Japan, eating avocado and waiting for the universe to arrive.
